Amazing video; i opened it expecting a deck profile, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality and the research. I loved Vaalmonica since it came out and this video did it justice for sure. Only pity is that a few days after the video Konami released the final support for the archetype which depicts the good ending, in contrast to Faust's demise

I was both happy to see the new cards and upset that I didn’t wait another month to make this lol, but I appreciate you sticking around to watch even though it wasn’t what you were looking for. I didn’t like them a ton when they came out but I started playing around with them a lot and now they are one of my favorite decks

I think they also take from another chapter from Goethe's Faust; the representation of prudence. Prudence is seen at the Walpurgisnacht mounting an elephant to which two figures are chained, fear and hope. This also makes sense with the official lore somebody pointed at, with the demon being fear holding the selector back though safe, and the angel being hope, pushing her recklessly but cheered. The newest boss could be her achieving prudence status, and also that of the goddess Nike which is on top of the elephant at the plays representation. I just love this archetype concept.

This is great! I have been thinking about how to do a part two to cover the new cards and revise some of the stuff in this video that I’ve learned new stuff about, and this is perfect. This has to be one of the most artistic designs for an archetype as far as game mechanics go

And then there s the plot twist of the official lore that the angel is actually the one pushing the girl to make bad(or rushed decision) on top of how her wings is actually upside down(yes this is on purpose) while the demon is actually the one that try to make the girl be carefull and is constantly asking herself why people won't listen to her and if its because of how she look (aka being a demon) Also the girl is supposed to be a chosen one destined to save the world but they didn't elaborate further. Anyway, good work as usual.

This was a really great video. I came here looking for insight into the deck and left here becoming more educated about a really underrated archetype and its story. Does this mean that the Link-2 Vaalmonica is Faust after he has succumbed to his fate? 🤔🤔

I think the two original link monster are the embodiment of following the good or bad path for long enough, while the new Link monster, Valar, is the way those results affect the decision maker. So not a one-to-one with Faust but a hat Faust could have been if he chose a better path. I appreciate you sticking around even though I provided no information on the actual deck lol

To be honest, I think I missed out on something when making this video. I believe the inverted attributes are suggesting that the shoulder entities intentions are actually reversed. So Dimonno is actually looking out for Selettrices best interest and Angelo is trying to fool her. Another comment on this video pointed out that duralume also has upside down angel wings while also being upside down, which could hint at this idea as well. I couldn’t find anything concrete online but I plan on making a follow up for this video to cover the last two cards released for the deck and hopefully by then I’ll have a little more insight on this.
