Bought one today to use in my little teardrop camper. Love having the ability to use propane vs having to go find 100% gas.

Thanks for doing this video. I didn't even know propane generators existed. Only searched it on a whim and your video popped up..

Just got mine after Walmart shipped me the gasoline version. Had to fedex it back to them and then they had AI power in CA ship me the iD version. I broke it in (1st hour no load, empty crankcase, replace oil, 2nd hour no load, empty, replace oil and load 50% up to 5 hours, empty crankcase, replace oil and now generator is broken in and ready to use) yesterday and hope to use it in parallel with my SUA2300i. Thanks for the video. I paid $399, so hell of a deal for a dual fuel and probably the best price in its class.

Update: It didn’t start initially because the “Low Idle Mode” switch was in the “ON” position (which has the turtle icon = slow idle). To start this generator, the low idle mode switch should be in the “OFF” position (which has the rabbit icon = fast idle). Once it’s started (on fast idle) you can slow the idle by turning “ON” the slow idle mode switch. Best.

What magnetic dipstick did you buy? I couldn't find one that specifically said it would work with this generator.

Yeah, that was one of the first things it tells you in the manual. Probably should have read it before you made the video.

I have two of these that I have run exclusively on propane. I find that the first start after connecting it to propane is hard, requiring several pulls (this is my least favorite thing about these). Restarting, after it has been run previously (even over night) and not disconnected from the propane source is one or two pulls max. I use them for my travel trailer. One, by itself, will run everything on the trailer except the microwave and AC, including charging the battery, on low idle mode. One will run the microwave on high idle. Only time I need two in parallel is to run the AC on the trailer. I keep them at the house for emergencies when not camping. I decided to buy two of these instead of one larger gen that would run the trailer AC, because I knew that I would rarely run the AC, so why deal with the extra weight, noise, and fuel all the time. 95% of the time, one running at low idle is all I need. I have never run out of propane with them so I can't say how long they last on a single tank, but it would be alot of hours. I'm pleased with my purchase.

You are right. This is the only KZbin video about the SUA2000iD. Strange since people love dual fuel generators so much. Seems like the going price is about $450 now (about $100 less than similar dual fuel Champions). I am interested in a follow up video if you want to share your thoughts after using it for a bit. Thanks.

Ha ha i know right! I will definitely try to do a follow up video once I get to actually use it…we haven’t had a single power outage this year (which I guess is actually a good thing) but maybe I’ll get chance to use it this summer.

I have many hours on this generator and it’s better than my Firman 2100 and almost equal to my Yamaha 2000i. It starts easy until about-25C and then you’ll have to bring it inside to warm up. Works great on both propane and gasoline and can handle the claimed wattage. Total bargain. Buy two and parallel them. Update: The motor shit the bed and siezed up so I had to return it. It lasted about 800 hours.

Great instructional video, Thanx. Noise level: There is no such thing as a "Quiet" generator. ALL generators are noisy and have to be to run a good load. Also I wonder if the Generator/Inverter is Pure or modified Sine wave or bonded. I tried to run a small window ir conditioner (600w with 900 watt surge) in my RV and it did not get cold though the fan ran. I bought from amazon a bonding plug in the 120 volt outlet and ran the RV power from the 30amp with surge protector and the air conditioner then ran freezing cold. Fact most small generators will not run the RV Air Conditioners that are installed in them, bummer!

Thx! Will try to do that at some point in the no too distant future. Of course once I bought it I really haven’t needed to use it all that much. Hi, Why the magnetic dipstick? Which magnetic dipstick did you purchased on Amazon?
@j.fontes68702 жыл бұрын
One reviewer said that as time goes on metal shavings start to come off of the gears, so the dipstick will attract the metal shavings rather than it move with the oil, and mess up the engine. Made sense, and even after the last oil change I noticed metal shaving on the dipstick! Here is the one I bought…Atima Magnetic Oil Dipstick with Oil Change Funnel Mess Free for Wen 56200i 56203i 56202i 56235i Generac 7117 GP2200i Predator 62523 625233
@kbach6524 Жыл бұрын
@@j.fontes6870it’s possible you see a lot of shavings at first , due to the brand new gears and other parts “settling in” and homing against their neighbors, and after the first couple hundred hours you have less. Magnet dipstick is probably a good idea.

umm Run time power out put ?????? the reason I have not got one because it says 4 hour run time? thats Ridiculous
@alenmadaric91155 ай бұрын
4 hours on less than a gallon of fuel at full load .I get about 9 hours at 50% load, and the reason I bought it is that you get up to 30 hours on a single 20 pound propane tank ...propane is much cheaper than gasoline ..at least here in Canada,which means it is very cost effective .

thanks for the video. Would you or anyone else here know if since this is ALREADY a dual fuel ie propane, would it EASILY be converted to run natural gas? I have the natural gas line out to the bbq, so it would be great if it could be converted.

I just bought this same unit, and am also interested in connecting to my grill gas outlet. I have read that there is a good chance that 'it will just work', but maybe with a little less power generated (even less than the propane spec). I haven't tried it though, and I don't know why they wouldn't list it as tri-fuel if this was the case. I'm very curious to know the answer.

on mine, I bleed the air out of the lp gas line before connecting it to the generator, still takes a few pulls to start, but about half as many times

@JeffMcAhren3 жыл бұрын
If you watch closely at around the 3:30 mark, he switches the upper left switch up, which is the "ENGINE" (run) switch. Up is "ON" down is "OFF", and it started on the first pull after switching it to ON, and he said, "I had the wrong button". The first issue might have been an empty propane cylinder.
