After 50 years of helping thousands of clients in trauma recovery and now in his 80s, Peter A. Levine, PhD, continues the work of healing-both others and himself.
In this podcast, Tami Simon speaks with the beloved Sounds True author and groundbreaking creator of the Somatic Experiencing® method about his personal journey and ongoing mission.
Give a listen to this inspiring conversation about the importance of community, the power of compassion, and the profound wisdom of the body, as Tami and Dr. Levine discuss: personal writing as a tool for working with trauma; self-compassion and kindness; conception trauma, and procedural memories; the archetype of the wounded healer; the body as a healer; how both trauma and wisdom are passed from generation to generation; conversations with Einstein; getting to the root of where you’re stuck; the promises and pitfalls of psychedelics; lessening our fear of dying; on-the-spot techniques for feeling safe in your nervous system; the ongoing nature of healing; the journey from trauma to awakening and flow; and more.

Thank you for bringing us this content for free. I would say that the amount of ads run for this particular video was far too many. This video is serious, deep and heartfelt and all the ads broke it into pieces. ❤

Sorry, you must have watched a different broadcast and unintentionally mixed it up with this one. What I have been watching and listening to here has been a talk without any adds at all. Besides mentioning Peter Levine's new book and thus his legacy, which is, what this talk is about. So sorry you had a bad experience elsewhere. May be my compassion supports you a little to heal that. Take care, will you? 🧡💙🙏

@@UtaSchmelter No, I received quite the number of ads. I do so now as well if I click on the video. I understand that ads might be necessary to bring in revenue but the amount of ads and the short spacing in between was unfortunate for this video. Perhaps you have subscribed to paid members content. 🙏✨💗

Yeah, KZbin has become unusable with ads. Best to find something else. I love TikTok but it's a little fast.

It almost makes me feel more hopeless listening to this, since I'll never have the support to actually heal or write a book. When a disabled autistic person is unable to work or maintain benefits due to fraud, retaliation, all kinds of illegal systemic BS, then they are subjected to a lifetime of ongoing abuse they cannot escape. Maslow was right about those basic needs needing to be met before we can tend to deeper layers.
