In this 2nd episode, embark on a journey through creativity with Tsuyoshi Tane.​
Based in France, architect Tsuyoshi Tane is involved in numerous progressive architectural projects around the world. He visits the Kutsuki Factory of Sankaku-ya, a group of Japanese-style architecture specialists who builds traditional Japanese sukiya-style houses using wood, stone, and other natural materials. The "trial assembly" process takes place here, in which they construct a building to a near-complete state. He witnesses a "well-crafted building" created beautifully and systematically by the craftsmen's handiwork. ​
Tsuyoshi Tane | Architect ​
Born in Tokyo in 1979. He has been active both in Japan and abroad based on the concept of "Archaeology of the Future," creating architecture from the memories of places. Major works include "New National Stadium of Japan, Kofun Stadium (proposal)," "Estonian National Museum," and "Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art.​
"HUMAN ODYSSEY" is a documentary film series in which creators who passionately pursue creation embark on a journey to discover craftsmanship. Calligrapher Daichiro Shinjo, architect Tsuyoshi Tane, roboticist Tomotaka Takahashi, photographer Kazuhei Kimura, chef Kotaro Meguro, and ceramic artist Raku Kichizaemon XVI. The six travel to different parts of Japan and France, and their new encounters lead to the creation of the next generation. ​
