So glad you showed Milford in all her glory - I got really upset with another KZbin couple who took the coach trip from Queenstown, then complained about the crowds - what do you expect! They then said Doubtful Sound was better because they took a luxury overnight trip. Their takeaway? Milford isn't worth it. Am I the only one who gets the issue here? 😂❤

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments! We're sorry we missed Dunedin this time - there's always more to explore on future trips. 😊 We absolutely loved Te Anau and completely agree about its special atmosphere. It was a perfect base for our Fiordland adventures. And you're right, Milford Sound is actually a fiord - thanks for sharing that interesting fact! We're glad we could show Milford's true beauty. Every place has its own magic, and we feel lucky to have experienced Milford in a way that really resonated with us. Your insights have us excited to discover more of New Zealand's hidden gems on our next visit! ❤️🇳🇿

Whoop! Big ups to you for chosing to stay in Te Anau, and not falling into the Queenstown tourist trap of driving (or god forbid, taking a coach!)! Te Anau is stunning and probably what I would describe as the most 'spiritual' place I've been on the South Island - it just feels sacred (like you can visit, but you shouldn't stay, if that makes sense?) ❤🤗

Thank you for your comment! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! I totally understand why the cat caught your attention - it was such an adorable and unexpected highlight of our stay. The place we stayed at was called 'Glacial Rock Cottages' near Tutoko Lane in Te Anau. The furry guest wasn't advertised, just a delightful surprise, so I can't guarantee cat cuddles, but the cottages themselves were lovely. If you do stay there, I hope you get lucky with a feline visitor too! It really adds that extra touch of coziness to the experience🐻❄️☺️

During the winter period, what's the temperature like in Milford Sound?👍
@PackUpExplore8 ай бұрын
It depends, we got lucky with the weather, so it was quite sunny and temperature around 10-12 degrees (celsius) during the day. But it’s minus at night and if it starts raining, could be something like 5-6 degrees.

Wow this is amazing!! I'm planning NZ trip 2024 Nov (🤞). Can you tell me how do you find accommodation?
@PackUpExplore6 ай бұрын
Thank you, I appreciate it! ☺️ For our trip, we used Airbnb for all our accommodation bookings, including a fantastic farm stay in Te Anau. Even though we only started looking about a month before our departure, which was quite last minute, we still managed to find good places to stay. My advice would be to start your search earlier than we did if possible - that will give you the most options to choose from. Wishing you a fabulous upcoming trip in November! New Zealand is such a breathtaking country, I'm confident it will win your heart over just like it did for us.

New Zealand is by nature wonderful. Politically it is a very divided country. The native population of Māori is not respected and works in low cost jobs as cleaning a street works. Sure good for tourism, but what about the native population?

@@PackUpExplore Sorry to say so, I lived in Wellington for 4 years , so I was not a tourist. Communicated a lot with the native population about this. Prove me if I am wrong.
