great video! Can I ask how long did it take for you to drive from Te Anau to Milford Sound including all these stops? I am planning to go this August but unsure what timing cruise I should book as I wish to make these stops as well. Grateful for any input/advice! :)
@GlobalTravelStories5 ай бұрын
Hi, I drive it quite regularly as a guide. I would highly recommend taking a guided tour as it adds depth and knowledge to each location and ensures you’re on time without missing anything + it’s not an easy road to drive if you aren’t used to our mountain roads. The company I sometimes guide for is Cheeky Kiwi Travel they pickup in Queenstown and Te Anau. I put a discount PROMO code and link in the description. They usually book up pretty far in advance so check it out. If you drive from Te Anau I’d recommend 3 hours, however some of the stops featured are off the beaten path. Either way have an amazing time in one of the most beautiful places on earth!

Hi which month did you visit? And which month you think is the best to go there to see the beauty of it? Thanks in advance
@GlobalTravelStories10 ай бұрын
Hi there, as mentioned at the start of the video this is shot over a 2 year period in all seasons. Each season brings something new and unique, you’ll see how beautiful it is with the shots in the snow, the summer is equally as beautiful in the sunshine and warmth, and even heavy rain brings spectacular waterfalls. You can’t go wrong!

Hi. Loved this video. I'll be doing the same trip in mid September this year. Do you think I'll need snow chains on my car?
@GlobalTravelStories9 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! September you don’t normally need chains but some of the snow shots I got were from a freak snowstorm in Sep which can happen, however it’s very rare that chains are required on that road.. even in winter, they are pretty good at clearing it asap!

You’re a little incorrect about trout, having minimum impact on the eco system. They do have a big impact on our environment, as they eat our native species.
@GlobalTravelStories2 ай бұрын
Good to know, I wasn’t aware. You’d think there would be some control in the National Parks to reduce that..
@OceandiversityNZ2 ай бұрын
You would think so but unfortunately not. Trout are up on a high pedestal threw NZ, but the fact that our native species are in high decline threw the decline of spawning habitat, pollution, introduced species and over fishing. There are a few organisations helping in the spawning habitats around the country, but yes the trout aren’t helping. Just watching your KZbin as we are heading down those ways this week for the 1st time and liking your footage 😉
@GlobalTravelStories2 ай бұрын
@@OceandiversityNZ thank you, yeah I knew there was conservation work with Galletides but I wasn’t aware how bad trout were. I guess it’s a controversial issue like hunting..

if we hadnt had global temp rises/warming from last ice age , we woul;d not have these beautiful fiords to wonder at . Glass half full or empty
@GlobalTravelStories10 ай бұрын
The previous rate of temp rises took thousands of years after the last glacial maximum (we still have fragmented glaciers in Fiordland). This slow natural process allowed ecosystems to catch up to changes. Not all historical climate change is a bad thing. The current rate at which things are warming is much faster and far more unpredictable in its consequences, that’s what is worrying scientists.
