Thanks for the shout out Brother! 🤘🤘 Your outro solo just makes me want to see Lesters video!! Now I have to try to shim a neck pocket!!😂

Shimming is super easy. You can do it.

I just have to say I purchased a monsoon about 6 months ago and it was set up better out of the box than many guitars I bought for a lot more money. The neck is comfortable the guitar looks and sounds great. Someday I will change the tuners an upgrade the pickups but honestly it shreds just fine the way it is. I would have killed to get a guitar for a price like this back in the day when I learned on an old Sears acoustic.

I still prefer the Monsoon because of the reverse headstock and fixed bridge but this is a beautiful guitar!

Way to shred! And also way to be fair in your assessment, as always! It seems like a great guitar that can use a few tweaks that would improve playability and looks (the latter of which is a subjective matter and never going to please everyone). But it’s definitely a great value and it’s tough to go wrong overall!

Thank you for an outstanding review of this guitar and killer solos. I have been pondering on whether or not to buy this guitar but you helped me make my final decision. I understand I may need to do some work before I am completely happy with it but I think it will be worth adding to my collection.

Those of us that have been around, shimming a neck, or a level and dress is no big deal. Problem is parents that buy their kids an Amazon guitar and starter amp are not the same category as players like us. Anything 300 bucks and up should at least be relatively playable. That is my personal opinion. I do like budget guitars, but I have all the tools and knowledge to fix everything.
@thebaldshredder9 ай бұрын
I hope I didn't give the wrong impression. It was totally playable right out of the box. But for me personally, I like really low action for my shredding. And to get that super low action, I had to shim the neck pocket.

When I review guitars on Amazon, I try not to get into the "it's great for the money" mentality. Experienced guitarist will know what that means, but fledglings and parents buying for their kids will have no clue, so I feel it a disservice to them not to mention the issues I had and the cost of the tools to fix it. Because if you spend $150 on a guitar, and $150 on tools to fix it, you might feel ripped off if there was a $250 guitar without those issues. So I may give the guitar a "low" rating (3 stars, which to me means playable and serviceable), but the review will detail exactly why I feel that way just as a warning to the future buyers.

Yes, I had to shim my Volgoa neck pocket. It only took a piece of envelope (I even used the sticky part of flap to hold it there) lol People would be surprised how little it needs but still helps. Yes, you still have to do a little bit of set up on these budget guitars. But man they are night and day from just 5 years ago. You are getting high end things' like roasted necks and fret boards and abalone inlays, the headstocks with routed concaves unreal. My Leo Sparkle is very nice and didn't do anything to it but put a new nut. Nice video.

I've bought USA Jacksons for 2500 dollars ESP Japan Customs for 4k dollars, LTD's for a grand, 300 dollar Ibanez,. Pawn shop guitars 200 bux, BC Riches, Yamahas blah blah, across the board for almost 40 years. Almost Zero did i not have to attend to such things upon receipt, New Used stupid expensive, cheap. Almost zero. It's just a statement for future readers not aimed at anyone. But my most favorite guitars i played till the frets were gone were cheap things that i made my own, from scallop my frets, to sanding the neck to even out of the box with a basic setup. I would buy one of these ---actually the cheaper model without the burls Wilk fat ass neck and SS frets for 250 all day.

Did the company send you this? I'm really tempted to take a stab at one of these, but every other review but yours says they arrived horrible. Seriously, every other review but yours refers to quality control issues, and then here yours sits as the lone "this is great." It makes me very suspicious that they made sure to go through those that they sent out to reviewers but don't give a damn about actual customers.
@thebaldshredder9 ай бұрын
I bought it on Amazon
@MrBluesMessiah9 ай бұрын
That's so odd. I decided to take a chance on their Les Paul copy instead. I've been wanting an axe in that "beach" finish, so thought it was a good excuse to give one a try . The reviews are better there, but there are still a lot of complaints about quality control. Even positive reviews are "it was great after I had Guitar Center fix it."@@thebaldshredder
