They didnt ignore them though. The people there were helpful and assisted the rescuers in tracking down the kittens to be rescued. Not everybody can foster animals, sometimes helping can be as simple as letting the right person know! If you don't have the right resources and knowledge, you may not help the animals at all. Also I dont know where you live, but here in America there are countless stray cats and animals in my city that are ignored and left to die.

In countries outside of the US, the people actually treat the stray animals with MUCH more respect and love than in the US in fact. Just because they don't always adopt them and take them home doesn't mean they don't care. Shelters and public feeding spots are very common abroad.

I could never do that, probably why I have 14 cats, 15 if you include my feral cat below, which I have plans to get help to trap him and he can stay in a spare room I have for him. I don't know if you have, but have you thought of putting up cameras in that room from different view points that people can watch the cats and kittens, it will gain more views. also you can keep a better eye on them by even putting them low down behind windows looking into their cat houses, as they go in, you can still whats going on but gives the mums some privacy and will calm down quicker without you being there all the time. It also makes it easier by even just checking how they are by the camera App. I feed a feral cat in my garden, I have cameras over looking the feeding area so I know his eating and safer, plus I put a camera inside his cat house I bought him to keep an eye on him, the camera outside alerts me to any movement even at night which I wake up to and can see if everything is ok. The cat house is up on top of a frame that's 3feet off the ground, the idea is to turn the whole thing which is 7ft high, by 7ft long, by 2ft deep. I want to make 3 levels, perspex roof to let light in and warmth, so when the cat is inside can walk about stand stretch etc with more cameras inside on each level. At the moment I am using Ring doorbells as they are small, they detect movement, record, and have them pluged into solar panels to charge them.
