Ella had probably been with her humans a long time. The abandonment was very frightening to her.

@PeachWookiee I'm sure being abandoned - esp with kittens - was traumatic. Hopefully, once the trauma fades and she realizes that she and the babies are safe, she'll relax with Dad cat again.

Badass Momma Cat. I have one too. Adopted her after she weened her kittens when she was fostered. She went after dad Cat and scratched up the owner pretty good when he tried to get them into the car to the humane society. I felt a soul call and found her there and adopted her. The woman there was hateful to her though and said "No one will adopt her." I said I WILL. She is my bestie friend and my badass Momma Cat.

It’s best to first just relax the momma, and preferably wait until she weans her kittens. Her motherly hormones will be at an all-time-high and it’s a blessing in itself if she even lets you touch her, let alone her kittens
