I couldn’t agree more. Here in the states we are deep into this election business and it is heightening my anxiety. Seeing you had a new video out this morning was such a welcome breath of fresh air. Also, I would recommend the cardigan patterns by Truly Myrtle for some other options. They are very plain but I’m drawn to them for that reason.

You now have a gorgeous, sophisticated Lunae shawl. Adding tassels would create an entirely different look and mood. I think the tassels would make it go from sophisticated to rather clownish, or to something you might see in a Middle-Eastern bazaar. I appreciate the time and effort you take to make your knitted items reflect yourself.

I am overjoyed to have discovered your channel. I don't want to overwhelm you with a long message, but I have been working my way through your videos and have really enjoyed everything from the knitting to the book recommendations to the quotes. I enjoy KZbin channels from people of all ages, but finding someone who is closer to my age presenting content in such an insightful manner was just what I needed as a relatively new knitter (about a year now). I had been sifting through random videos and came across a young person who was lamenting that she could only find old ladies at her LYS and wanted to find people her own age via KZbin. It really struck me in a negative way - she's only hoping to reach 20 somethings? I have friends of all ages and find that different people have different things to offer at any age and hope that I am the same. It gave me a weird feeling. But then I discovered you and it really gave me a lift. Maybe someday I'll offer a channel of my own to give back! Anyway, I could say so much more but just wanted to comment to thank you for what you do.

‘Joy (in life) is a choice’ this quote has stayed with me all day and in fact it’s been what has kept me going throughout the past long months as I am recovering from complicated brain surgery. Most of my body isn’t working properly at present, so knitting and nearly everything is a struggle .. for now. But there are many moments of joy too and your podcast is definitely a highlight! I agree with many of your viewers in that your shawl is gorgeous and elegant without tassels - there’s enough going on in the fabulous pattern. I can imagine you in the Silver leaf cardigan! Your stunning yarn would be the star of the show! It needs no fancy stitch patterns. I look forward to seeing what you decide on! Best wishes

Hi Hille, In my opinion the shawl is more striking without the fringe, the shawl has much more attitude without the fringe. With fringe, the expression of the shawl is reduced and all that becomes too much. But that's just me. It’s SO beautiful ❤

The week before Mother's Day last year, my mom ended up in the ICU. She had been sick and the infection turned in to GBS (Guillain-Barré syndrome). It was a very aggressive form and within 48 hours she was almost completely paralyzed. She had to be put on a ventilator. Not long after a track and feeding tube were put in. She spent a few months in the ICU before being moved to a hospital with doctors and staff who treat BGS patients. She was there for a little over a year. Now she is in an acute care facility. In the beginning she couldn't even open her eyes. She is still on the ventilator but they have start having her off the ventilator for a few hours each day. Her recovery has been very slow and painful. The reason I am telling you this story is that every time I visit her she is so positive and grateful. She even asks me to collect jokes that she can tell the nurses. I remember the time I visited her and saw her able to smile for the first time in months. I will never forget that day. It was the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. Then the day she was able to speak. Now she is able to eat again. She is get physical therapy every day and can move her left arm quite a bit. Still no hand or finger control. Through all of this my mom has been able to find joy. Ever time I visit she tells me about some new improvement. I am so amazed at how she has handled what would have broken so many of us. She still has a very long road ahead but she continues to see the positive things.

Hey Helle, I always enjoy knitting an listening to your stories ... so inspiring. I am voting for that Saguaru Cardigan! I am sure it would be a perfect match for your neon yarn: It is a somewhat playful pattern, but the neon will add a modern touch. So I think that would be an exciting contrast, enhancing both: romantic and modern/sportive.

Hi Helle, and thank you for another inspiring episode! I think it depends what vibe you prefer for the Lunae. The boost in texture from the tassels give it a kind of Mid western or even Peruvian twist that sits well with the slouchy, casual, off-centre way that Natasja wears it wrapped in the first Ravelry shot on the pattern page. Almost boho but not too much as the tassels are small and wide enough apart. You’re wearing it much more neatly arranged and symmetrical, with those three clean points lined up in the front. That look, without the tassels, gives it a more European, urban chic vibe. Both are lovely. Maybe take photos wearing it both ways and doctor the photos with tassels to help you decide. I prefer the Madeline by Soumine Kim. Those lines with the small flowers at the end would look delightful in the neon, I think.

Lovely to see you again, and as always with many beautiful knits. I definitely wouldn't add tassels to your gorgeous Lunae shawl, it is perfect and elegant without. Listening to you always calms me. Finding 'joie de vivre' isn't always easy but there are blessings and moments to be thankful for. My yoga instructor tells us to look to nature, and to be grateful for a flower, a bird, a blue sky, the warmth of the sun or the breeze on our face. Or just the fact that we have a home, enough food to eat, nice clothes. Sometimes I find it difficult (or hear myself complaining about something trivial) but I try each day to improve my outlook.

Thank you Helle, as always! I wish we could sit and knit with a coffee and chat about all things knitting, but since I am in Canada I will share some thoughts with you here. I would opt for leaving the tassels off your gorgeous Lunae shawl. I love the graphic design and clean lines of it, and feel that that is really more your style. It is striking as it is! Of course you could always make the tassels, put them on, decide not to keep them and put them on your Christmas tree instead. 😊 I think the Madelaine Jacket would be stunning in the La Bien Amie yarn. The style and the floral motif would complement the colour so nicely. But whatever you choose will be beautiful, as all of your knits are! Thank you for a wonderful hour spent with you!

Hello Helle, I love the shawl you're wearing. The colors are so soothing and beautiful together. I am also not a tassel/fringe person, and although the tassels look good, even "striking", if it isn't your thing, then don't do it. I have caved to things like that in the past and have regretted it, and then I don't wear it. I try to stay true to myself, and it brings my joy. That's just my opinion. Hi Helle. Your Lunae shawl is stunning! If it were mine I'd leave the tassels off. Right now you have an elegant piece. In my opinion (which of course you may not agree with), adding tassels will change this elegant piece to a piece that looks like a folk costume, or just more rustic.

Thank you for a lovely vlog today! Your shawl is stunning and I suggest that you enjoy it without tassels and see how it works for you. I didn't think I needed tassels on a shawl but it was part of a shawl I did by Joji Locatelli called the Hipster and I have to say that I have loved it. But, the design on your shawl I think is the focal point and truly doesn't need the tassels unless you absolutely want them. But, I'm leaving this comment to say that I loved the mini tassels and would never consider myself a 'tassel person'! Thank you for also talking about the different alternatives to mohair or even your experience with different mohairs. I can't wear alpaca due to skin issues unfortunately due to the guard hairs but have been trying to find a truly itch free mohair and its been a journey! Be well! PS Thank you for the 'side trip' to Paris with the amazing array of beautiful yarn colours and the lovely scenery.

Thank you so much Helle - wonderful to hear about all the things you're making! I think tassels on the lovely Lunae could alter it quite a bit - from more of something rather elegant to a garment with a hint of a bohemian feel. Gorgeous with or without tassels. Always fun to see video coverage of places you've been! I always receive compliments on my one-strand mohair only loose pullover and I love wearing it - it's light but also warm.

Yeah I’ve knitted a couple of silk mohair fluffy cardigans without buttons and I’ve worn them EVERYWHERE. They just elevate a pair of jeans and a tee-shirt (but feel casual) and also feel snuggly (with some flow about the body) without the need use buttons. For a project that I thought I’d hardly wear, they got the most wear….thats how it goes I guess. Thank you for giving me some knitting ideas. I’m in a rut at the moment as our weather warms so taking to just crocheting Christmas Knick knacks until inspiration hits again.

I love the simple elegance of your scarf without the tassels, it is beautiful. And I love the silver leaf cardigan and think it would be gorgeous in your yarn, but I am totally enamoured with anything Morganite.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your podcasts. Your knits and colour choices are so beautiful. I was actually very excited today to see your podcast come up (I hadn’t seen one in awhile). Your Lunae shawl is gorgeous! I have also grey hair so it is so nice to see your colour choices on. There was a kimono that you made that keeps sticking in my mind! You also have a very calming tone to your voice. Hello from Canada🙂

The very sweater is my vote. With that yarn…striking! No tassels. Your work and yarn choices are so lovely.

I love the shawl. I bought the pattern a while ago but I am so overwhelmed by her patterns. Knowing your sensitivity the yarn must be soft! I just started the pink velvet and I am loving the color work! I need to try an aegyknit pattern also. I knit the magnolia cardigan and love it. Thank you for the lovely video!

Love you Helle! For your cardi conundrum, I personally think the Fairy Dreams would be exactly what you were saying you wanted: beautiful but not too busy or too romantic and the right shape. I also think it would be amazing in that colour! BUT, watching you, I got the sense that the last one (the Along Avec Anna) might be the one you might want, even though it’s quite romantic. It’s absolutely beautiful and would look so lovely on you

I really enjoyed your podcast. I chuckle when you ask for opinions and recommendations for your next cardigan. Well, watching your completed and incomplete projects only adds to my list of things to knit. Sigh. I cannot help you!

Dear Helle , thank you for another hour spent in your lovely company. I think the mosaic shawl is stunning and I would not add the tassels. It looks stunning and sophisticated as it is. Take care Maria from Oxford.

😊Your finished scarf is absolutely gorgeous. I think maybe I will have to try that type of knitting.

Dear Helle, I love your Lunae Shawl. I’m currently knitting the Bluewater Cowl by Tressa Weidenaar. Thank-you! For being such an Inspiration.

The Lunae Shawl is breathtaking! I think, as you do, that the tassels would be too much. It would make the shawl “busy.” It’s lovely like it is.

Dear Helle, thanks again for your post! The shawl is so beautiful as it is. Tassels would mean adding something that would add nothing. So I would think no tassels. And as for the cardigan; I would't be too afraid to use a kind of romantic design. The neon colour you will be using is a perfect balancer for that. In fact, it would be quite interesting because of the contrast. I'm looking forward to see that project finished!

Thank you so much, and that (the balancing) is actually a good point 🥰

Dear Helle, I link to see your podcasts very much! Thank your for the wonderful inspirations! I also link the Designs from Natasja Hornby, I‘m knitting right now the Nexxus Cardigan. From your Cardigan options I like the Madeleine cardigan most and see it wonderful with your pink yarn! Greetings from Munich, Germany, Barbara
