Iloilo is great for family especially for students. If u only knew there are lots of schools from public to private universities and colleges. Iloilo is the center of education in western visayas. I was once an english tutor for koreans way back then. . There are so many koreans studying here most of them resides in gran plains subdivision. They said its cheper in iloilo and the quality of education is superb!👍🙏🇵🇭

It's great that you're documenting your challenges of finding a place to settle in after leaving Dumaquete. This give a glimpse to other foreigners on things they want to consider for each city. Goodluck on your journey and praying you can find a house soon. Take care of your health. P.S. I think Dumaguete is really for people who retiring, they like the laidback living of Dumaguete. Whilst IloIlo is considered is considered to be on fast paced living. IMO.

Congrats guys on finally settling down in Iloilo. I'm from Manila but if there's one place in the Philippines that I want to migrate in, that would be Iloilo so it's really a good choice. It has the convenience Manila has to offer but still has that suburban-province feels, and for sure, lower cost of living, plus the cleanliness and orderliness. Bucari in Leon about 1.5hr drive from Iloilo is called Little Baguio. If the kids have a long weekend break, there are a lot to see and do in Panay Island. Of course, the food is always amazing. Glad that you found a school and a place to stay.

We need more new residential condominiums in ILOILO CITY.. The location across the street from the former Sarabia Manor Hotel is just a prefect location for a multistorey residential condominium, and if the Rockwell group is not interested in developing it anymore, it is better that they give it up to some other real estate company because there is a great need for new condominiums in Iloilo City, and the Rockwell group is just letting this wide lot run idle while a lot of Ilonggos, as well as migrants and expats and balikbayans are waiting for these new condominiums, for them to buy or rent. If Rockwell has no need for this lot in front of Sarabia Manor, it is better that they give it up to other real real estate developers that are waiting to take over.

I think you made the right choice. You love nature and it is near Boracay, you can go to Carles in iloilo and also there's little Baguio in Leon....alot of nature, beaches, good food, nice private schools some of the oldest and the best in the country. Enjoy Panay Island and Guimaras! Just trust your instincts and don't mind the negative comments. You have traveled the Philippines more than us Filipinos. i enjoy staying in iloilo because i love to eat more mango. my favorite batchoy so flavorfull. i also love to watch the biggest festival the Dinagyang festival, the beat of the drums so intense. the white beaches of Guimaras island, the little Baguio of iloilo in Bucari leon, so nice to roam around those places
