A Lady// Thistleclaw and Snowfur AMV

An interpretation of their after death meeting
I'd like to believe that Thistleclaw genuinely loved his family.
Snowfur made him soft, and I'd like to think that Thistleclaw accepted that change, especially with him being excited to be a dad. However, her death made him relapse and grew even crueler than before, snowballing to serveral events that lead to the main arc (like Tigerclaw, Scourge, and Bluefur's entire arc).
Even if Snowfur loved him, I don't think she'd agree with anything he did after her death, and so resented him heavily for it. When Thistle finally died, they saw each other at the border where Snowfur would finally show him that she no longer cared for him.
Maybe Thistleclaw's violence softened for a bit and filled him with regret.

As for spotedleaf, since this is not an AU, everything is a cannon, it was not depicted due to audio length, and personal comfortability drawing it. Though I think the bloody paw implies enough

I love how this shows that Thistleclaw really did love snowfur, he was just always ambitious and lacked empathy. He loved Whitekit, he loved Snowfur, and when she died he completely lost it. Beautiful animation!

ehh debatable. although its an interesting interpretation, not much canonical evidence to back it up. they spend very little time on screen together, and thistleclaw is pretty horrible to whitekit after snowfurs death- even going so far as to curse his and snowfurs name while training in the dark forest i like the interpretation though, its nice to see him being a little more complex rather than the blank slate horrible man he is in canon. beautiful art too

Well, I do believe he loved Snowfur, even when they were innocent apprentices they were flirting. I think she was like the one thing that would have kept him away from his worst traits. Don't remember on the timeline but dude was going into twoleg place just to terrorize kittypets, and even wanted to kill a kittypet kitten. Snowfur probably had some xenophobia about other cats, but she never broke the warrior code. She grounded him kinda, but once she was gone he got worse. He loved Whitekit, but in a way of I'm going to make this kit in my image, he was gonna be a bad influence on his own kid.

The sad thing is. If you read Crookedstar’s Promise you find even more how empty his heart is by the way he comments about either Snowfur/Bluefur and his son while training in the dark forest.

This is probably a weird comment, but I like how understated the visuals are, for lack of a better term. It's not anything overly grand, it just shows what it needs to and it shows those things exactly _how_ it needs to. A+ work, absolutely lovely.

This is very cute! I hate how they did Thistleclaw in the books. He really wasn't that bad at first and I feel like they only added to him/grooming Spottedleaf to give a better excuse why he ended up in the dark forest but I think a better story with him would have been how him and Snowfur's relationship ended up after they both died and how him and his son were. I think I would be kinda cute to have a scene where Snowfur and Whitestorm meet him at the border and Snowfur wants to try and convince Starclan to let him in but he tells her no because he doesn't want them to send her to the dark forest.

no?? thistleclaw was never ever good. well i guess before snowfurs death he was just mildly grumpy and rude to bluefur. but after that he was DEFINITELY horrible. beating up tiny, using claws during training with tigerpaw, threatening to kill oakheart, saying he’ll “line the borders with his enemies blood”… hes definitely a terrible guy. heck, him loving snowfur or whitekit is even debatable considering he battle trains whitekit when hes still in the nursery, and then curses both his and snowfurs name when hes bad at it when training in the dark forest! awful awful guy

I love to think that yeah, he did genuinely care about Snowfur and his son. But he snowballed and became an absolutely horrible cat and I’m glad that Snowfur at the end shows that she no longer loves him as his actions are unforgivable

Fun fact: Even though Thistleclaw had arrived and went to the Dark Forest, Snowfur still loves him regardless of his actions, and now in Starclan, took care of Bluestar’s young kit, Mosskit who passed away ^^

amazing work, it reminds me how of an bad afterlife system starclan is thistleclaw was a bit mean, but that’s nothing when compared to brokenstar or tigerstar standing atop a massive pile of hatred and destruction with kill counts in the dozens! why did cats like silverhawk, snowtuft, thistleclaw, juniperclaw (etc) get shoved in with monsters like tigerstar, brokenstar, mapleshade (etc again)? especially in the dark forest, it seems to draw out the worst in anyone, and then everyone goes and wonders “why so evil?” judging by how common ive seen this argument across the internet really says a lot about how much warriors needs to change its system

This is incredible! The differences between the living world, Starclan and the Dark Forest are incredible in their realization, I love how short the entire thing and yet perfectly paced it all is, this is incredible! It really makes your heart clench in sympathy for Thistleclaw and Snowfur! I wonder if Whitestorm would meet with his dad at the border.

First of all this is beautiful artwork! I love the colors! Secondly though I don't think Snowfur would have no longer cared for him. Loving someone doesn't mean condoning all their actions, it's hard to imagine her or whitestorm could ever fully hate him.

What they did to thistleclaw was so shitty imo I get they wanted him to seem bad but that was so unnecessary. He could’ve easily just have been trying to recruit other warriors and not make him a P. I liked him as an antagonist in bluestars book. Then they ruined him.

Remember in Bluestar's Prophecy Snow and Thistle were flirting at the gathering..yeah, good time. And remember each time he wanted to be with his son or teach him something Bluefur(star) was like 'piss off' yeah, good times..idc i genuinely do love Thistleclaw. Minus Spottedleaf's book. But somewhat in a way, minus the pedo stuff he was still interesting in that book, just the way he could easily manipulate others. But even WITH that, there ARE other characters similar to him and didn't go to the Darkforest..feels like Thistle was more of a filler character
