Composer David Raksin was a professor of mine at USC, 1958...underscore perfects this scene. Many thanks.

I saw the film. Hedy could have chosen a better script as she was in a bargaining position after her record success in "Samson and Delilah." But she chose money over script approval...unwise move on her part. Her agent told her not to do this film as she was told the script was nothing special and contained a plot that no one would care about. So she went over her agent's head and negotiated a higher salary and in the process gave up script approval. She should have listened to her agent as this movie did nothing for a career that was on now a downward trajectory.

Part of that is true, but Hedy was in demand after "S & D", but she had the urge to go back to her home studio "MGM:" and at her price at that. it wasn't a bad film, more interesting in today's immigrant folly.
