This must've been the quietest and most comfortable lap there has ever been on the track. A Rolls Royce has suspension that is supposed to smooth out anything and really, it looked like you couldn't really feel the curbs

Local traffic laws meant he had to remove his (non-standard) window tinting film, which left glue residue on the glass. Easily removed with a touch of solvent, but not done in time for the video.

@@kenkalajdzic thats right but a current m5 is over 2 ton and still is way faster than 8 minutes full lap. So I would say it is possible the rolls could beat some cheaper hot hatches.

@@GoldenCroc Cheaper maybe, but even then I still expect Rolls to be quite a bit slower than an M5. Chassis and suspension also play a big role in lap time and RR is simply not designed for cornering, it's a 100% comfort oriented machine. So something like a Focus or Golf (what OP mentioned as a possibility) will blow it out of the water.

I remember an interview with the boss from John Cooper Works, and he was asked if now, being in the same concern with BMW and Rolls Royce, will they be doing a JCW Rolls? He said definitely no, if the guys from M Motorsport want to do one, let them do it, but JCW will not touch it. Maybe Schirmer will, tough... It's funny how speed doesn't look like speed in such a big car. 100 miles an hour, no problem. Curbs, not an issue. It is a little heavy on handling because it weighs an elephant and a half but wow, really impressive.
