Every detail makes this story pop. From pockets in the pocket area - to the description of what 75k looks like stacked up - to the sagging car due to bulky bulk! The Snowman should have increased your cut on this one!! A genuinely well told story, Chris. Thanks for sharing!

When I’m ready to sell my collection I know who I will sell it to. Inexperience people in the hobby may think making a 20k profit favors the seller but the buyer takes all the risk PLUS having to tied up 60g’s of your money.

Man, I just love watching these collection purchase videos. I think most collectors would love to have not only the cash, but the nuggets to travel like that, and acquire these awesome collections. Although, most of us would definitely not want the bulk, especially the junk wax. Thanks again for the entertainment Chris. Always look forward to the next purchase.

Robert Louis Stevenson once said, "To travel hopefully is better than to arrive." For me, one of the best parts of going to a card show is driving to get there. How exciting would it be to be driving more than 10 hours in anticipation of making a deal for almost 60,000 dollars of some of the coolest cards on the planet???

Low key indictment on Ebay. 75k would be fine if Ebay didn't take 15k themselves. And then those cards would be 10x harder to find without Ebay. So it's a different world today.

I would definitely be scared to bring that much cash to some stranger's house. I know you guys had a few conversations and the seller seems nice, but that's how scammers disguise themselves, they will act like the nicest person to lure you in. I would 100% bring something for protection, because even tho most people are nice, there are some evil people out there. I m not trying to scare you, just saying to be careful. Stay safe Chris.

Out of curiosity, what do you consider a reasonable price for stores/dealers to buy at? I've noticed that for cards over $5 it feels like 50% cash, 60% store credit feels like it's been the norm for a while. Unless talking about a rare sealed item or high grade grails.

Not to mention, I’ve rented several in my life to move and they never feel like they’ve been well maintained and could make an hour or two drive, let alone a 22 hour journey 😂

@CVMGAM
@CVMGAM 6 ай бұрын
I would say the seller made out better than you two. You made a 25% "profit" in cash and keepers, but took an extreme financial and physical (storm) risk. The seller on the other hand would have had to pay ebay fees, and for about another 10% discount to you, he got off completely from the task of selling, which would have been a lot of work of packing and shipping. Yeah, I don't think he minded that extra 10% at all. And all off the IRS books.

After a couple years of watching your channel, there is no love lost. I enjoy most every episode, high rollers can get a bit repetitive, which you have stated you are aware of, as duplicates come up often, so you started to include honorable mentions which I love . But these stories are far and away my favorite. Other than regular rollers, there is nothing I love more. As always I appreciate your time and the effort you put into making these videos. On a side note, you start your videos with a pic of your son with the mantle rookie, how old is your son now? I have three kids, 10,12 and 16. Does your son enjoy the cards? I’m sure he is still pretty young, but one is never too young to love collecting, not just cards but anything. Thanks again!
