I just love your truck, the MAN TGX looks so good!

If using A50 towards Stoke, I always used to come off J16, but if its backed up, it obviously takes a little bit more time, but best way would be the scenic route, which is head towards Knutsford (A50), go through it, then through Holmes Chapel (town a little narrow when coming off the roundabout, you go round the church which buts into the road, and after that, just keep on the A50, then on A34 for a mile, heading towards A50 to take you left towards Stoke at the roundabout (M6 is to your right). Apologies about this, but regarding your caravan, the one thing you need to do (and we got caught out), is to make a note of the key number for the caravan, and put it on your phone or somewhere, in case you need it. All caravan retail places have a shop, and will sell the relevant keys. The key number should be in your caravan log book or equivalent. Me thinks you need a spare pair of shoes to change into when getting out of the cab😂. Looking at your speeded up driving, the lowland, eg, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, with the fens, always reminds me of northern France and Belgium. Just lovely to drive. The sugar this country uses now is sugar beet, which we grow in this country, so the Cambridgeshire area is perfect, rather than sugar cane which we used to import from the Carribean. Talking about the A14, and not showing up on the satnav. Happened to me last year when I went for a week to just short of Bury St. Edmonds. When I came off the M6 and getting on the A14, my satnav lost everywhere. I ended up on the M11 heading north. Came off at Godmanchester, parked up, and ended up looking at my paper atlas. I can read that better. I knew exactly where I was and I was ok🤣🤣

The boy in me loves the noises when those airlines are attached, I'd never tire of hearing that if I did what you did, haha. I remember the northbound M6 always being a nightmare from around JCT 8-10 even back in the late 1980's, you'd be guaranteed a jam before JCT 9 and even way before it when you start to see what looks like garden fencing panels along the sides (it had those in the late 80's too). P.S. In a fantasy world, if there was only one choice between more torque or a better horn then I'd go with the horn, I felt bad for those poor kids.

I always feel bad for them because they think I’m ignoring them 🫣 I believe all trucks should come with air horns as standard

You've been to the Fens again, through the delights of Wisbech via Outwell and Downham Market to Wissington. Are you just checking out places to bring your caravan? I wasn't out and about yesterday, but I'm looking out for Nemesis when I am.
@Life_of_Darren2 ай бұрын
I’m not going to lie, when driving down the lanes I was thinking the same about the caravan 🤣
@robho94012 ай бұрын
That was an awfully long way to pick up the A14. I'd have gone up to Kings Lynn, A47 back to Peterborough, A1139 south of the city to the A605 (not the part of it you were on after the trailer collection) which takes you to Thrapston, about 10 miles from Kettering. There are several videos of the A605 journey on KZbin if you want to check it out. Many of those lanes are our only option for getting around out here in the wilds.

The cameras don’t operate too great in the dark unfortunately but it is pretty dark for me too when driving down the motorway with no street lights

You mentioned fuel theft. Is this common and how to do make sure it doesn’t happen to you? Also on fuel does the boss pay for the fuel or do you have to claim it back ?
@Life_of_DarrenАй бұрын
For the fuel theft it’s not as common in service areas but in lay-bys and industrial estates it can be a problem. Doesn’t cost the myself anything to fuel as the company I work for cover the costs. One way to help prevent any theft is by parking in a well light area, preferably parking near a business that’s running a 24hrs operation and service stations as they have cameras around

@@Life_of_Darren So last week I only worked from 8:00am to about 14:20pm and I only took 15 mins break. Would that be an infringement?

Could possibly as you may have gone over the 5minutes, but if you removed your card at 14:00 the pottered around for the last 20 before finishing then you will be okay bud

I’m nearly 9 months into carnivore and about to have lost 9 stone. How do you do carnivore on the road? If I could use my air fryer I’d put the sirloin steaks in the fridge. Is that possible? And how does the food voucher work? I’d sooner just have the tenner so I don’t have to buy shite at service stations. 🚉
@Life_of_DarrenАй бұрын
Tbh it can be hard on the road but it’s harder to try eat the same as the family, because they’re not doing it it’s hard to cook food we’re all going to eat, congrats on the diet!
