I am sure they were making for Denver and turn over the train so they could get the rollers and sliders on the grill as well as the picnic tables set. LOL! Good afternoon to you Mike. Bad weather in west & middle Tenn last night lasted til early this morning. I didn't make it to bed til 3am so slept in this morning. No fatalities but looked worse than it actually was. A good Memorial Day to you from an USAF veteran. Thanks for your Navy contribution to our safe and secure lifestyle. Have a grandson in USAF serving over in Europe doing same. Enjoy your day, thanks for attending services at cemetary & remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.

Sadly, there were only a handful of us faithful there this year. I will be there next year, God willing and the wind doesn't blow. The local VFW no longer exists having fallen below required membership numbers. The post I belong to is falling into the same position with their membership declining. It is a nationwide thing. Good morning Mike and a Happy Memorial Day to you and all who served this great Country. When I saw #69 was leading today's train and #6 was on time last night, I was thinking I should've stayed one more night in FMG. I'm still a little sad I didn't get that shot of #6 I was hoping for the other evening, but I guess that means I'll have to come back and visit again. What a nice little town Fort Morgan is. I can now say I've been to every Colorado stop on the CA Zephyr and I would recommend all 6 of them to anyone. Anybody thinking about visiting Marne and Mike in Fort Morgan, do it! You'll have a nice relaxing time, get to enjoy plenty of trains, and see FoMo's beautiful downtown. Just be prepared to walk 10 blocks (roughly 24 minutes) between the train station and the hotel. Anyway I'm headed up to Mary Jane for the final day of Winter Park's 2nd longest ski season to date. Don't think I'll get this Zephyr coming out of the Moffat today, but it is possible if I'm in the right spot at the right time on one of the Challenger runs. I think I'll have to hit the Rainbow Cut and Little Ten runs in honor of the dinner I had in the Dining Car the other night from The Rainbow Cut to Little Ten Curve. Enjoy your Memorial Day and hopefully I'll get to see you sooner than later there or here or anywhere along the steel highway.

I did catch that same train on video in glenwood springs Colorado, it pulled in at around 3:09 pm, and I was shocked to see phase 7 on that locomotive

Yeah happy memorial Day Mike we did have a big bad bunch of storms from Saturday night and all day yesterday. They pretty much kind of left out of here about 2:30. But then another batch rolled in about maybe 6:30 or 7:00? But it's cloudy back here. So that's probably why the zephyr is really late today.
