Looks like Leaf filter sits way too flat. Was looking into them. I wonder why they have never addressed this in their design

Because they didn't invent the product and don't own the patents on the technology, I believe the inventor has tied their hands. Also, they don't really care about solving problems, just selling as much product as possible. If you are looking for a good gutter guard, there are other options, made from aluminum, that are better than LeafFilter. Since LeafFilter is plastic, it will likely warp over time, too.
