Hello Sonia, PLEASE DO continue with your animations, they are super useful, clearly laid out and very well presented, and very watchable. Yes we are all dealing daily with human nature and its downsides, that why we have law, and courts and barristers :-) Don't get down, take courage that your work is SO GOOD that someone has had to plagiarise it and pretend it is their work ! Dear Sonia, All your videos and content is truly amazing. It takes real courage to share your experience in an honest way you did. I am truly sorry to hear this happened to you. Please don't let it to be the reason to discontinue doing the videos if you enjoy making them. It is a true gold mine of knowledge and practical tips. As for the lawyers who stole your work, obviously if they out of jurisdiction there is not to much to do in UK, but have you considered contacting their equivalent regulator? You already contacted them by commenting on their channel, people who are as low as to steal your work and try to get the credit for it are not likely to even apologies, but they should definitely explain this to a professional body who regulates them as this is not just an ethical dilema is just plain old theft. Hi Sonia, So sad to hear this. This is outrageous indeed. You can’t put a true value on intellectual property. I wish you the best outcome from this ordeal. I can genuinely sense your frustration and totally understand why. That is so cheap. Good that in a way It was dealt with swiftly. You are such an articulate and intelligent person so I am confident you will deal with this in the best possible way. Your work is of such good quality and benefits all those that genuinely need it for their development. Please carry on! I suggest hiring as a matter of "best practice" for your content IP anyway a virtual assistant who can once a week/month etc scan online for duplication of your work. Sadly content stealing comes with the territory and you can get someone overseas to do this relatively cheaply ($3 to 5 phr) and allocate 2 hrs for example. I've hired for similar in the past and its well worth it. Look at it as the cost of doing business. You're valid to feel very upset and angry. Yes there are awful things happening in the world but everything is relative to one's immediate reality. The sense of entitlement, dishonesty from another colleague in law must be bewildering. He/She, saw a video they can steal but you have every second, decision and effort represented in each video. Your animated videos are quite unique and differentiate you in a crowded market so don't stop. I feel you on the hair!! 🙂

In my considered opinion it would make no difference to the thief lawyer as he has clearly shown he has no ethics, no conscience and no morals. I would consider asking You Tube how best to put animated content up with added protection which could not be copied and passed off as another’s creation.

What is wrong with some people today-sorry to be sexist but predictably the pronoun for this thief is “he”. …. You have a great face btw. Hey short and sweet -direct and succinct. Excellent example were your words in dealing with the sort of mentality who would be perfectly okay in grabbing your creation and calling it his own. I’d feel devastated possibly too much so because I would call what HE tried to do (who did not succeed Amen) a violation not unlike kidnapping as you referred to …your baby. I dont think you could possibly exaggerate the impact of truly atrocious actions by this person who,sadly, accepts an inner weakness so poignant, had you not called it to the attn of the enforcers at KZbin, this frightened little man (I use the term loosely) would have likely been perfectly satisfied feigning a talent that he does not own! You do. How sad it must be to prefer living a lie than life that is real; that it is better to live a lie than overlooked in painfully authentic mediocrity. -and believe me this sad little man has mastered the excruciating dullness in both. There are a lot of unscrupulous lawyers out there unfortunately for the profession and society as a whole. They stole your IP (or obtained or bought from another that stole perhaps) and you are entitled to damages (what that is ?). Or did the organisation who created sell. A few questions to address. Get yourself independent legal advice. At a minimum report it to KZbin and the Channel involved and tell them what you require ie if you object (always record in writing is my understanding and experience) and want the content removed from their channel. However FYI I understand by the content appearing on their channel, it can be flagged as copyrighted (to yourself) and they do not receive a revenue return but you potentially shall. You need to investigate it further and if you would let your subscribers and others know the outcome that would too be a helpful share. I dare say it may be treated along the lines of music. AND if you check your postings, you may find there is a 'Download' option under the videos (as appears on this KZbin video) which potentially creates window of contributory negligence wouldn't it? Perhaps there is provision for you to turn that off. Neither does there appear to be a copyright disclaimer on your Description information which leads me to want to check whether you have integrated copyright into the recordings at the front and or endings. I'm in no way condoning their behaviour and it is still wrong and stealing IMO if you as the creator have not authorised regardless of whether or not there is copyright notice. Personally my practice would be to include copyright information so there can be no doubt as to whom is the owner and or creator and if it has been removed from content stolen it would create another deliberate act and potential offence. Again IMO. Offering food for thought for you. Yes, I agree re the grief. Have been in similar situations, and it can take time to perturbate before we are able to move forward, especially coming from the profession we dedicate our careers to. Interested to know how you have got on, noticing this comment is 9 months later. My best to you and thank you for sharing. PS Is it worth continuing, depends on your why's. I would suggest yes to carve out your niche and brand. Depends on your time, resources and goals and purpose. Does it serve you to continue? For what purpose? If you do, make sure you have peace of mind moving forward.
