For any OG The Show players, what is the purpose of holding r2 when batting? It’s called “Guess Pitch” but the only reason I’ve seen for it is to see what pitch mix the pitcher has. Does it actually give any type of advantage to the hitter? Does it function differently in single player DD modes, offline modes etc?

I’ve played since 15, guess pitch was in ranked and br until I think 18. Now, when you hold R2, especially on pinpoint, it can throw off the pitchers timing and is considered very very cheesy. In conquest, rtts, and play vs cpu, you can use guess pitch.
