it's like im watching late 90s and 2000s basketball. the grit on defense is insane and looks more entertaining than watching both teams doing 3 point shootouts. alexander smiling while defending murray is so damn refreshing. pride on their defense!

Ironically enough, the only way you can break this defense is by chucking threes beyond the arc like Steph Curry. Doesn't matter how good your team's defense is as long as you keep making them contested quick-release threes, the defense is bound to break.

If I average at least 15 points a game and will only average 7 if I play both ways? But the only thing the fans demand are the 15 points? And you are going to pay me 10 million for playing less than 70 percent of 82 games? What will I do? Clue averaging 7 is out of the question. Look at the Bucks. Those bone heads, after winning a chip, traded D for offense. They sent the whole of their Defense to defend in Boston. The Buck's Defense is still playing. The Bucks new offense has gone fishing. That's what happens when a GM listens to people who only watch the movement of the ball.

Active hands all around, no easy baskets, players underestimate how impactful even just attempting to block or putting a hand up to someone shooting is. It changes the shot and bothers the shooter. I had the best time watching Alexander, McDaniels, Naz Reid, Anthony Edwards, Towns, Conley-go off on defense. I missed Gobert but he is likely so proud of his team for holding it down. What a watch! Go T-Wolves! Whole team is just great-even saw the bench-Kyle do some moves out there.

Because a lot of Denver fans were complaining that Minnesota was getting away with a lot of fouls I watched this video specifically to find contact that looked like it could be a foul. I counted 3, maybe 4 if I’m picky, times where the Wolves got away with some extra aggression. Meanwhile, there were 2 times in this video (that wasn’t showing Minnesota’s offensive possessions) where by the same standards the Nuggets got away with extra contact the other way. The Wolves defense tonight was just on another level and it’s so exciting that fans are into it!

@@jofieji5312 yeah they called like three touch fouls on Denver and they also called like three touch fouls on Jaden McDaniels. A lot of Denver fans were upset about the no call when KAT plowed over Murray early in the game but then Jokic did the same thing on the other end of the court and there was no call there either.
@jofieji5312
@jofieji5312 7 ай бұрын
@@jeremiahkuehne2400 na there weren’t hardly any touch fouls on wolves even though they were playing twice as physical. Wolves got a way with a crime in that first half. If it’s called fair they would still be leading by maybe 10 but no 30 point lead with 12 blocks and 7 steals while Gobert is at home.
@jeremiahkuehne2400
@jeremiahkuehne2400 7 ай бұрын
@@jofieji5312 they called a phantom elbow against Jokic (which really surprised me because his entire game is throwing elbows and not getting called for it) and then later they *didn’t* call an actual elbow by Murray. It kinda evens out throughout the game but the Wolves probably got a slightly favorable whistle and benefit from the lack of touch fouls being called in the playoffs, but if you also factor in that Malone and Murray both should have been ejected and didn’t even get technicals it’s pretty even

I don't watch euroleague but I don't think you have perimeter defenders as big as Timberwolves Ma Daniels is 6 foot 11 NAW and Edwards are 6 foot 5 KAT, Anderson and Reid also tall guys who can play center They play crazy defense and they are tall and contest every shot. I don't think we ever saw a team like this

With the end of Golden State's dynasty, if the T-Wolves win the chip this year will this influence and usher in a whole new era of Defensive oriented teams like Golden State ushered in the era of volume 3pt shooting? 🤔

Not every team can do this. They even took a huge gamble playing so hard in the 2nd quarter because even the coach said they were gassing in the 2nd half. We all could see them in the third making some errors they don't usually make because of fatigue. It paid off though and if they can sweep they'll get a nice rest. In short, no. It's like the Pistons in 2004 didn't change that much except it started the big 3 wave.

@04mzwach true. However, they were the number 1 defense throughout the season without exerting as much energy as this game so it could possibly influence that sort of defensive priority to come back into the fold. Making teams focus on strong defense that "can" be called into overdrive if needed.

You funny. Gsw built their dinasty also on their defense. They changed the game because they proof a team can win without a big man. Both on the offense and defense. And you can see that, without a good defense they can t even reach the playoffs since 3 years. Despite they still have steph klay and dg. 2 of them the best 3 point shooter of all time by far. As always nobody give enough credit to defense and how it is crucial to have a chance to win a championship
