Looks like a nice camera, would be nice to see another review with it. Still I guess it is mainly the photographer who makes the picture :-) I like the one with the reflections best. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for the fun review. If the battery dies. Set the shutter to the lightning bolt. Now it’s a fixed 1/30 of a second. Use sunny 16 and keep shooting. I have been shooting with the first generation electro 35 for five years. Never had battery problems. It is a joy to shoot. Chris

Because of you, I bought one and restored it. Bought it for a little over $20 with electrical problems and didn't have many hoped of using it beyond the 'box speed' but, after finally getting time, and not being willing to throw in the towel, I got it working again :D

The Electro 35 was my first Rangefinder and my first vintage camera repair when I got back into photography in 2009 or so and I still love it, even after owning many many many other cameras. I know this video is 2 years old, but I'd love to see you shoot this more, especially some BW. I find it really likes XP2 with an orange filter, and I've added a nice silver square lens hood and take it alongside my M240 with 35mm. And I love hearing that Ka-thunk of the pad...very unique.

Just a few days ago I shot Fuji Industrial 100 for the first time, too, and I am really pleased by the colors and the tonality of this film. Fun fact - I bought the film a few months ago in Berlin when I stayed there for a few days. I strolled around the government quarter like you and took a lot of shots there. So, your video is kind of a nice reminder of my summer trip. And as always, very nice shots, Robin👍😉👋!

I really like the colors of Fuji Industrial 100. Fun fact: this camera was used in the film The Amazing Spiderman by Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield). After the movie came out, the camera and even the same strap were highly sought after but luckily prizes never got as high as the Yashica T4 prizes.

Sometimes I use two zip ties to make a DIY focusing tab. I also fiddle with the iso dial a lot for exposure compensation when I'm using mine. :) It was my first rangefinder and would probably be my "one" camera if I had to choose one.

I’ve had a couple of these cameras. They helped cement my love for rangefinders. The first worked great and I loved it so much, but then it died unexpectedly. I tried to get it fixed, but it wasn’t repairable.. the second worked ok, but never really felt the same, so I saved a little while and got a Leica to replace it. I really miss the Yashica’s lens though. Also..there sure seems to be a lot of people out shooting where you are in this video.

Great clear pictures well focused, color and light balance. This type of Yashica Electro 35 had great reputation and was compared with great cameras in its time. Also it's a great film camera for street photography because it is quite. Every time I'm looking at picture results, I'm impressed. Of course, with a real photographer, it's a bonus. 👍
@Garacha2224 жыл бұрын
to prevent double exposure, you can tape a small flat piece of plastic (or even a thick enough cardboard) to protect that film-release button. Use Painter's tape, or gaffer tape to hold protection in place. I've got a working copy of this camera. As a rule for all cameras, I use lens hoods, so I have one on this camera. My intention is for BW photos that I develop and print or scan. Haven't actually put film through this camera yet, but I'm very pleased with the viewfinder, and the focusing image that the viewfinder provides. (The reason for not shooting with this camera yet is that I am still calibrating my film processing flow so as to maximize end results. I'm using manual nikon for this testing.) Once I settle on a development method for differing contrast conditions, I'll apply the best ISO to support making good negatives. Then each roll of film will be committed to a particular development method. I can carry multiple cameras, if needed, each loaded with film having its own ISO, so as to support varying contrast conditions on any particular shooting session.
