I loved this before I even pressed play! I lost my Bernese in March 2020 and miss her like mad. I now have Mischievous Martha the almost 2 year old Leonberger who is filling the void in my heart ❤️

@@tomhatton2512 I hope he's just really tall and not fat, with giant dogs weight is unfortunately idolized and overweight dogs are so common among giant breeds like leos, bernies, newfoundlanders etc that their owners learn to think their dogs need to be this and this heavy instead of not looking at numbers but keeping an eye out on their dogs appearance. Remember when you sink your fingers through your dog's fur to his sides, you need to be able to feel his ribs, not sharply but there shouldn't be any fat over them either. If you slide your fingers over his side and can't feel his ribs without applying pressure or wiggling fat around, he's overweight. Don't want to be preaching or offending anybody, but I see so many fat big dogs because their owners want them to be a more impressive weight/think they have to be that heavy that it makes me sad. I tend to ask after the dog's health whenever someone says their dog is a certain weight that sound heavy even to their breed. Unfortunately the owner almost always gets offended and angry, instead of taking a step back and reviewing their dog's weight with a neutral mind and either admitting it's time for a diet or confidently being able to say there really isn't any excess fat on their dog. Overweight is really bad for a dog, especially a big one, a lot worse than for a human.
