Hello sir, is this method acceptable for CAIE A Levels Further Maths? Or should i have to use only gaussian elimination method??
@jamminermit4 жыл бұрын
Would you be able to use Guass-Jordan Elimination, or do you have to use this method in an exam?
@TLMaths4 жыл бұрын
Yes - any correct method should be fine. Your question has inspired me to do some videos using this method!

hey love your videeos i understand the video i just have one question, i know you use that + - + - + - + - + 3x3 matrix and i understand it, but i was just wondering where it came from? thank you :P
@TLMaths2 жыл бұрын
It can be derived by solving the simulatenous equations from www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%28%28a%2Cb%2Cc%29%2C%28d%2Ce%2Cf%29%2C%28g%2Ch%2Ci%29%29*%28%28j%2Ck%2Cl%29%2C%28m%2Cn%2Co%29%2C%28p%2Cq%2Cr%29%29%3D%28%281%2C0%2C0%29%2C%280%2C1%2C0%29%2C%280%2C0%2C1%29%29, requiring j,k,l,m,n,o,p,q,r to be written in terms of a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i. It's obviously a messy derivation.

@@TLMaths Thanks for your reply. I repeatedly went through my book and your video. Finally got it. I am having some problems with application of transformations, would you be able to help? I am homeschooler, self studying for a levels.

I'll help if I can - what's your question?
@nikunjpapnejja79923 жыл бұрын
@@TLMaths thanks. Please check this link. It has the question as well my solution which does not match the one given on the back in my book. drive.google.com/file/d/1OaL0rQ0D22R4o6MXn0cC9p-6KsmbG9YL/view?usp=drivesdk

You will need to change the share settings to allow me to view it. Make sure there is nothing in the folder you don't want anyone to potentially see as you would be making it fully public.

If given this question in an exam, would we be able to use our calculator to find the determinant?
@TLMaths3 жыл бұрын
I would say a hesitant yes, but you should definitely know how to find the determinant of a 3x3 matrix (unless you're just doing AS, in which case the calculator should be fine).
how many marks is a question on this topic usually worth its due to come up on Edexcel's A Level Core Pure 1 Paper according to the advance information so need to be confident

3 or 4 I would imagine, with one of the elements being k or similar.
@LeeLarner2 жыл бұрын
@@TLMaths wow that seems low considering how long it takes
@protocol27462 жыл бұрын
@@LeeLarner if you practice it takes about 3 minutes, but yeah 3 or 4 sucks
