Because of the Coronavirus we might not be taking are gcses. I got 125 marks on my edexcel mock though so hopefully I got a 6 or a 7. If they are actually cancelled then I'm upset since some people improve there grades and get higher than predicted. But hopefully I'll get a good grade for getting into maths a level. 👍
@winterstalker74 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm the same as you right now. I got 85 in my November mock for maths (Grade 5) but then I put in the effort and managed to get 129 marks in the March mocks (Grade 6 close to a 7). My maths teacher said that she was going to predict me a 7 since I made a considerable jump from the previous mock (boost of 44 marks) and then I considered doing A level maths. I really enjoy maths since it is very fun and I tend to learn some maths topics when I'm bored. I've heard that it is difficult and you have to try your hardest (but I guess you have to do that with all A levels) and I'm the type of person who is willing to put in the hard work in order to get top grades and aid me in becoming successful. I was originally going to go for Biology, Chemistry and Psychology but now I'm thinking to drop psychology and go with maths since it is going to be useful for Dentistry and is going to keep my doors open since I may change career options

@@winterstalker7 omg this is literally me rn. i got a 5 in my october mocks but then got a 6 in my december mocks (3 marks off a 7) so my teacher decided to predict me a 7. i initially wanted to do chemistry, biology, psychology for a level but i realised that if i did maths it would keep many doors open for me, in case i didnt want to pursue medicine anymore ya know. now im literally so confused on what i wanna do. i know that taking 4 a levels will not be the wisest option in terms of my already deteriorating mental health but i still dont want to drop psychology bc i rly enjoy it. not sure if you're gonna see this ahah but if you decided to take maths how did you find it so far since its been a year :))

@haniyyaejaz36045 жыл бұрын
I’m doing 4 a levels including maths and English literature and I don’t recommend taking 4 as universities don’t give you any extra credit for it. They value AAA more than AAAB so if you do 4 and get one lower grade you could lose a potential place :( but if you feel confident in doing 4 try it.Worst comes to worst you can drop one. Xx
@lol-nd5it5 жыл бұрын
@@haniyyaejaz3604 pretty sure it doesn't matter and they only look at your best three. So if u need A*AA and got A*AAC they'd probably still accept you as long as you got the grades in the required subjects (like if u needed an A in maths and u got the A or A*)

Hi, I had a question in regards to solving this inequality: x+1/2x-3 < 1/x-3 I’m not too sure how to solve it since we don’t know if x is positive or negative so you have to multiply the denominator by x^2
@khattakjarir33992 жыл бұрын
You need to cross multiply so it then equals (x+1)(x-3) < 2x-3 then expand the brackets so x^2-2x-3 < 2x-3 brind all x's to one side so x^2-4x < 0 ( difference of two squares) (x-2)(x+2) < 0 x= 2 , x = -2 which are the critical values draw the graph for it and since the inequality faces to the zero the answe rwould be -2

@lol-nd5it5 жыл бұрын
@@shroomjak200 I'm not sure tbh. I just do as much sufficient work as I can untill I feel as I've done enough. For maths and further maths, since I'm taking maths at uni, I prioritise those subjects more but since I generally understand new concepts quite quickly I only end up spending an hour or 2 doing questions on the topics. Sometimes when I struggle to understand something more I usually spend around 3 to 3:30 hours trying to figure it out. For computer science, my timings are more fixed so I spend roughly 2 hours doing questions and going through notes. I don't really bother doing much work on the weekends. I only just do a few practice questions then relax the rest of the day but this might be different for you idk. You may only need to spend 30 minutes studying or 4 hours, it really depends on the subjects you do and how well you retain information.

im doing art rn and trust me you have to "live and breathe" it if you want a decent grade, if you really think you can live without a social life then do it dude, but if you want to have hours to yourself then youll have to drop one. Consider what you want to do in the future; you can do art in your free time if you arent trying to get into a career involving art. If you want a career in medicine or anything around that then id recommend not doing art, as biology is sooooo time consuming since most of it is memorisation, chemistry is just shambles (it takes a while to understand concepts and apply them properly) and maths, its just constant practice. On top of that if you procrastinate itll be nearly impossible. If you think you can handle it, then go for it, but if you know that you can change subjects up or drop one then do so, itll make your life a whole lot easier. Good Luck!
