1. Let your learning marinate. You are a chicken breast absorbing them joozes overnight. 2. Take breaks after gains. Time passed is not an indicator of success--actual wins are. 3. Stick to the basics/use an iPad (sponsored portion) 4. SQ3R (SURVEY: What can I learn from the text? Skim and find the main ideas. QUESTION: What do I hope to learn from the text? Think about what you already know. READ: Look for the answers of your questions. RECITE: Consider what you want to remember from the information. RECALL: Reread your notes and relate it to your own experiences). 5. When you feel like procrastinating on your studying, pick the lowest hanging fruit. Do what's easiest, then work your way from there. 6. BEST TIP. You can feel confident about anything, given that you put in enough preparation.

For me, studying in the morning is the best thing, few days ago i had some test, i got up early and studied it and it felt like the information just got stuck in there, plus in the morning when you don't have any distractions and ur brain is clear and empty (no distractions, etc), i also like to get up early to revise / study simple things that i dind't have time to do the day before, always works! (altho it may be different from someone to someone) for fancy stationaries part, it just became a habit to write notes organized and clean, it never felt like extra hard work to do to design it ngl, plus its more eye appealing to look at them and review them, unlike messy notes i don't know what the heck is going on top left or right lol, this is only my opinion!

Waking up and studying in the morning works for me. I love the peace and quiet around me as my family is asleep which enables me to study without any distractions. Pomodoro can work for people with a small attention span, because studying for only 25 mins without distractions can help you get into the flow state of mind. I use it sometimes when I don’t want to study and it does wonders. We can’t say that these study techniques don’t work, it just differs from person to person and their study habits.

I’m gonna decent the pomodoro technique. Technically, it could be any amount of time. Plus, you can be flexible with it too; you don’t have to follow it EXACTLY. If you’ve done 25 minutes, and you feel like you can do more, just do more. It’s not like the technique is forcing you to take a break. The point is that it helps you feel motivated.

For the pomodoro: the 50 min work 10 min break version actually helps me a lot! I struggle to get down to work immensely after I burned out months ago, so having a timer telling me, "this one hour of your day is for school ONLY!" helps me actually start studying and make that one hour productive instead of procrastinating half a day away in dread

Hi Amy since your last video before this one my school has started and I didn't have enough time to watch your videos even that I really needed them too . Tonight I had some free time like 30 min and I decided to come here , and while watching your video after a long time I felt like peace and that really nice vibe of your videos , I had really missed your cute and fun jokes in videos and it really made me laugh and smile when you said '' she's just jealous because she can't make thing pretty '' , and I am so thankful that you are saving us from study tips that are not working and now I can see why even that I tried hard in past 1 year at school I wasn't improving and one of the things that I can feel and mention it in all your videos is that how much your honest , you show us the reality and simple and beautiful view of life not that fake perfect view , even with that you show us your house as it is not tidy it up before videos or hide something there that is a part in all of us lifes , like showing you family or yourself when you are working and everything behind you is so simple and beautiful and there are just some amazing roses :) , I hope that I could say what I really mean of it , and about your miny vlogs it was all the thing that I needed to hear now in this moment of my life that '' WE ARE ALL TOGETHER IN THIS JORNEY '' thank you Amy really thank you that you show us how to don't give up and try after a lose too ( even I don't believe rejecting is a lose it's a part of life and experiance that can teach you much things ) and you give us comfort with showing that you are some how in same situation too and we are all together doing it , and I can't leave without saying that you are so beautiful without make up and thank you that you give us comfort with that too :) wish you the best Girl

Amy, your videos helped me develop the 'killer mindset' and actually become happy with learning. But, I don't think waking up early in the morning is overrated, speaking scientifically and experiencedly... It's like, I study the concepts at night, they kinda get registered, like, 40%. Then in the morning, when I study, even the concepts that seemed doubious to me makes sense, everything gets etched into my brain... Instead of staying late into the night, waking up early not just helps me strengthen my understanding of the concepts, but also makes me both healthy and productive. But as you said, yes, study timing differs from person to person. But, I must agree with all the other tips you've said (especially pomodoro). Thanks for making this video Amy!

1. For me studying during daylight hours is the best. Timely sleep is very important for me. 2. I agree that Pomodoro never worked for me either. Though I do an extended version of it, 1-1½ hour study then a 10 minute break. 3. There's a middle ground to pick here. Your notes should be neat enough for you to skim through and not miss anything important. I like to write it neatly and highlight all headlines and formulaes. But it shouldn't be too much effort to the point it's counter intuitive. 4. Notes are always for REVISION. I only use them when coming back to it after studying. So rewriting is a waste of time. 5. This is soo true, always aim to complete a task as different tasks take different times. Just my take on these tips

I need to work now" like it's hard to explain but I felt that the way Amy explained it, my attention and focus was ready to flow out of me into my work and I felt the need to do it at that time.. kind of? ok this is my personal opinion on stationary: it genuinely helps me when I make my notes pretty, it makes me want to look through them more often. OF COURSE when I'm actively taking notes I dont make them aesthetic, but afterwards I go through and refine, section, and make them pretty. I do agree with color coding, I have a different color for each subject. If taking aesthetic notes makes you happy and more willing to study, go for it!!
@XanderPikeАй бұрын
1. I am so mentally drained by the end of the day that I don't get much from studying at night, so I reserve studying and homework for the morning and reading/research for the evening. I love doing deep dives on information for my research project right before bed. 2. I don't follow Pomodoro completely, but when I'm trying to get stuff done within a specific time frame it works well for me. For example, I only give myself 45 minutes to solve a specific engineering problem, and if I can't get it done in 45 minutes I take that as a sign I need to get help with it before I waste a bunch of time trying to solve a problem that I simply don't understand. I don't use pomodoro for studying and revision though, because I want to be able to get into flow when actually studying.

I think there’s a caveat with Pomodoros, it can be unhelpful when it breaks you out of the flow state but a reminder to keep going when you’re not, because you know a break is coming

Im taking my first AP class as a junior and Im very nervous. In freshman year I was depressed and got horrible grades. Now Im really trying to turn it around but I’m not sure how to study. Your videos really help me, thank you so much!!

As a morning person, i have to disagree on the first point. For me, on the days before any test or exam, i usually spend the whole day in prep and my mind is very exhausted and it kinda shuts down after a point. So to cover anything nore than that is practically impossible for me. So rather give up on sleep to force myself to learn when i clearly can't, i have a good night's sleep and then wake up to a fresh start and that clears my mind and i feel i can prepare better

for the first tip that she suggested, i was a bit shocked to hear her say that! as an asian, my parents strictly believe that waking up early in the morning to study will just activate your mind, and the time between 4-7 am is the time where everything gets registered in your mind. and they weren't lying! i actually started studying early in the morning, because my parents told me this crazy myth that at 12-3 am is the time where ghosts will be roaming, and that they would distract me from studying. i used to believe it when i was 7th grade, and from 8th grade, i started studying at whatever time i wanted to! don't believe all these crazy myths, just stick to your routine. and if that routine gives u good results, then just keep moving! everyone is unique, and not everyone might be a night owl or a morning bird specifically.

I feel like there are a lot of “good” study methods, but what makes one great is if it works for you; I’ve always disliked the Pomodoro Method, but studying in the morning is so helpful for me.

Hi Amy! I am an aspiring student from India..... I was the topper of my class till 10th (sophomore year equivalent ) with perfect scores and participated in various extra curriculars like debates and quizzes and other competitions and also won several medals in Olympiads.... but due to some traumatic life events i started performing terrible in the 11th (junior year) with 73 % and somehow managed to improve in 12th senior year but only scored 81%.... i lost hope..... i was preparing for NEET exam (med school entrance exam in India) as i always dreamt of being a doctor ...... but after watching your videos u have inspired me to work again harder..... now i have stopped procrastinating and have a better schedule and study regularly with dedication...earlier i was ashamed of being nerd and tried to fit in....i thought i was an ugly nerd but you made me feel proud of being smart and nerdy.. wish me luck for next year (currently taken a gap year for NEET) i hope i will give you the good news of getting into med school.... love you Amy!

Commenting on this from the perspective of a lazy butt who finds motivation extremely hard, I agree with some of the points, but just as you said, all of this is subjective, so maybe I'll share my side to possibly aid some people like me: - Pomodro's are really helpful, IF you properly set the time for your needs. This is my problem with most pomodoro apps, they don't let you customize it. I like pomofocus, it's a website but let's you customize everything. I go for 40-5-15, as it allows me to get into the flow and cuts me off around when I start getting tired and distracted, but you need to set it to your needs (I have it quite long for some people's liking because I largely use it for writing, where getting in the mood and flow is pretty damn important) - "Performative productivity" is a great way to motivate yourself to be actually productive. If I get myself a nice drink, do some fancy skincare, get pretty stationary, and so on, I'll actually be excited enough to study/work and do it well. If I don't do that, chances are I won't have the motivation to do my work at all. It's better to not be 100% efficient, than to end up doing nothing. - Focusing on time spent may be easier than focusing on accomplishments if you struggle with motivation, because it allows you to know what to expect and reduces the mental load of trying to decide what your goal is. You'll likely get to the task quicker if you tell yourself "I'll do this for 5 minutes, and I'll see where that gets me" than if you try to decide on the next achievable goal and then get to work. Also if you tell yourself "I'll revise this chapter in the textbook" likes are that you'll rush it if you don't feel like doing it, while you can't rush things when you give yourself a time goal, you'll work in the pace that you need. Again, what works for you is very individualized, so I'm saying what works for me, and what *may* work for other people who struggle with motivation. Amy's tips are GREAT for efficiency, but being more efficient won't give you much if you can't get to work in the first place. Stay hydrated and have a great day! (But I have to say, the mock test tip is so true, especially for exams and contests, where you can easily find mock exams. For example, the SAT exercises may not be that hard, but you are really strapped for time, so getting used to the question types and learning what pace you need to go at is SO needed)

Productivity is best in morning. Learning pre-sleep.

I think that the tip with morning studying can be effective for people who have more energy in the morning. It's just that we're all different. I personally am so exhausted in the evenings, that my mind just won't work. And in the morning I do the same task in the much shorter time .

For me personally, unless it's an interesting topic I can't always pull myself to just sit and read a whole bk, sometimes it helps more if I rewrite it but I know for alot of people that doesn't wk(sometimes it doesn't work for me depending on the subject) so thanks for the additional tips

A tip for pomodro study session:)) Rather than studying for 25/5 try 50/10 it's so much more efficient and productive according to me ❤

Tip one is actually true and I've used it to study during my exams but for someone like me studying before I sleep will be like dreaming without falling asleep. It depends on whether you are an early bird or a night owl or a lazy pigeon
