Alternatively, you could also just find the maximum height of the ball (making v=0 vertically) and since its less than 10 we can conclude that it doesn't make it right? If it were greater than 10 we'd still have to check if it covers the 5m horizontally either ways however.

yeah thats what I did, and got 7.4 as the max height so I concluded that it doesnt reach the wall. Hopefully we can do it that way

@@puddleduck1405 well you got lucky because the wall is at the point when the particle is dipping. if the wall was directly under the maximum/ stationary point then fair enough

so I'm guessing you could alternatively find the time it takes to reach 10 m vertically, input that time in to the x values and then use that time to work out if the ball reaches 5m in that time or not(which is one of the conditions needed to clear the wall? thanks

Yes, that should work. Try it out

Hi Jack, are these past exam questions that you are working through? Thanks for the useful videos by the way

The majority I made up, or otherwise based on exam questions but changed the numbers

Your title numbers are off by one starting from here. On the Google Doc too.

Thanks for pointing that out - all sorted now I think
