I was struck by lightning in Sept. 1979 in Tampa, Florida. I was riding my bike super fast, side-by-side with my friend, we both lived in the same college dorm at USF. She was only 2 feet away next to me on my left side. The lightning bolt came down with a huge "BANG" noise & bifurcated in front of my face, striking each of my hands on my handlebars. Shot me & my bike up into the air, then knocked me over to the ground. There was no rain, yet. My hands & fingers were smoking. They said at the hospital, that the rubber from my bike tires saved my life. Eventually my burnt fingernails grew out. But I never felt the same.

@@okayydude 1. Why is there so much pain and suffering in the world if god can just prevent that from happening? He’s also omniscient so when he created humans he knew that this is what would come of it. 2. why didn’t god plant lots of evidence that he’s real? As previously stated, he’s omniscient so he knew that there would be many less Christian’s in the world. He could have triggered the event to where everyone becomes Christian. As well as the fact that he apparently wants everyone to be Christian (or Muslim/Jewish if you’re from the other ones). 3. Why did god allow the snake in the garden of Eden? Seems a little silly to me if he could just prevent that, and he knew that the snake would tell them to eat the apples. 4. why put the tree of knowledge in the garden of Eden? Weird choice in my opinion, since he could have simply put it out of reach permanently… it’s almost as if he wanted them to eat the fruit, since y’know, god knew beforehand that they would eat it. 5. Sometimes people belonging to abrahamic faiths counter the argument of “who created god” with simply saying that he has always existed. Well let me ask you something, why couldn’t the infinitely dense pocket of matter and energy have always existed? 6. An overwhelming amount of people say to atheists about something called Pascal’s wager. This says that if you’re wrong you’ll burn in hell, if you’re right then you’ll get nothing. However the Christian’s well get heaven, and if they’re wrong then they’ll get nothing… this is wrong for many reasons, including the fact that it’s not honest to believe just for self preservation, but also because if Christian’s are wrong but Muslims are right, they’ll still burn in hell. I can’t really say that for Jews as well since they think that everyone is going to hell temporally and eventually everyone will be in heaven. It’s also not as well defined in Judaism what hell is like, it may be torture but could just be a feeling of shame. Still though, torture is very wrong and nobody deserves it. 7. “The bible/Quran/Torah/Sūtras say it’s true!” This is just circular logic, what makes the holy books true? 8. Someone I saw on KZbin claimed that the bible is the most historically true book in the world based on archeological evidence… no. Just no. 9. The problem of animal suffering. This is possibly Christianity’s greatest issue, (not Islam’s, because they have bigger ones.) this is far too detailed to explain here but it is explained by Alex O’ Connor, one of my favourite KZbinrs, on KZbin. However, I see people in the comments saying that animals don’t feel pain. As said by Alex in the video, this has radical implications. “So if I have a dog, theres no reason why I shouldn’t throw it on fire, cut its tail off and poke it’s eyeballs out with a fork. I mean why not, the dog isn’t suffering so what’s the problem?”

Yes, it grows from the sky to the ground, unlike trees, and this is due to the presence of a conductive medium between the sky and the ground, which is water. Since the charges in the sky are different from the ground, lightning occurs during rain because water is a material medium that conducts electricity.
Wow! When I lived in Florida we would get lightening like this during the day when the SUN WAS SHINING! Florida the only place where I went into the bathroom during a storm, scared to death by the violent lightning.
@PhoenixFusion1310 ай бұрын
I'm from Florida. You think it's bad there? You should see Atlantic Beach North Carolina... 3:00 a.m. we're laying in bed dead asleep, loudest sound I have EVER heard - I swear to god I was absolutely convinced a nuclear bomb had just detonated. I was literally frozen with fear. I laid there for several seconds actually expecting the building to be ripped apart any moment. I couldn't tell if that orange light outside the window was just the porch light or the glow of a mushroom cloud. My husband somehow was still dead asleep, but I reached over and took his hand, still convinced that this was it. After a while, there were some white flashes followed by more loud cracks. Relief washed over me finally, and I cried. About a month later my husband and I were in the living room watching a movie around midnight. Bright white flash with a simultaneous SNAPBOOM!!!!!!! I literally screamed bloody murder. My husband immediately began comforting me and continued to do so throughout the next several peals of thunder. Both times it wasn't raining and it was at night, and came without any warning. Growing up a Floridian I am not afraid of thunderstorms, but Atlantic Beach is on a whole other level.

It took me a while to read all the comments nobody seems very informed. So I'll help. Lightning strikes from the ground up 65% of the time. If you have metal around the tree at the bottom or just leaning on the tree. There's a good chance you're going to see a lightning strike. You'll usually notice the way the bark rips upwards. Before it pops off the top of the tree.

That happened last summer at my sisters house. It was a big tree and the roots went over to the front porch, when the lightning hit it dirt shot out of the flowerbeds onto the porch.

@@dontbeedgy Hey dontbeedgy let me explain this to you in simpler terms, and you can try until you are blue in the face, but you can’t take God out of anything, ( because His word ) it is everywhere even if you don’t want to admit it & unfortunately, that is what is wrong with society in general. 🙏🏾😞 Because what we try to do is remove The True & The Living God out of our lives, and out our classes, away from our jobs, away from our homes, ( we worship every other creature under the Sun, with the exception of The Creator ) then when tragedy strikes, we desire all of the sympathy in the world right ? Ummmmmmmm isn’t that right @dontbeedgy ? Wow ! And the very word of The Living God is all but here, ( as His word is fulfilling Itself at an alarming rate of speed 🙏🏾😞 ) ( Lord Jesus ) and what you fail to realize is this. But it is this ( computer generation right here ) where Jesus said ( It is this generation that shall not pass away until all things be fulfilled ) but @dontbeedgy it is your pure ignorance, that causes you not to understand, until after you have read this message in it’s entirety. So my advice to you is this. Please don’t take this message in vain, because it has been revealed to me, by that of The Holy Ghost, that Jesus Christ Is In Fact God The Almighty, and ( He ) knows all things @dontbeedgy, so please talk to Him, because as sure as I bring this message to you, to a close, please remember this. All eyes shall see ( Him ) but the million dollar question is this. Will we see ( Him ) in peace ? Or will we see ( Him ) in ( His ) anger and also in ( His ) wrath 🙏🏾😞 & God is so so so awesome, but ( He ) also gives mankind a choice, & my personal choice is Christ Jesus, but you can do as you are pleased, & I love you, but Christ Jesus, ( He ) loves you a whole lot more & please don’t allow this message to fall on deaf ears. In Jesus Name. It is so. 🙏🏾

The best of them all happened in Mendham NJ. One evening me and two friends heard the loudest explosion like thunder, and the next day I’m walking towards my treestand and I see what appeared to be 2x6s sticking up as if someone was framing a house. When I got closer, I realized that the big tree next to my treestand was missing, and what I was looking at was splinters that landed sticking up. Too bad it was before cellphones, I would love to have a video of it.

It’s crazy. When I was a kid in the ‘60’s we would camp as a family in different states. We ALWAYS had a campsite where we placed the tent right below a large ever-shading tree. Later on, they advised - DON’T even stand under a tree in a storm. ( We went through many severe lightning storms under those trees. I suppose the metal supports of the tent, all centered on the top, could have fried all 6 of us.)
