Hey, folks! Please SUBSCRIBE to our channel and LIKE our videos! We READ EVERY SINGLE COMMENT! Your comments help us make choices for future reactions.
We post 5 or more videos weekly! Click the POST NOTIFACTION BELL so you don't miss a single Literalist Reaction!
Unlike most reactioneers, we are 100% honest with no shooting marshmallows up people's butts if they financially support.
John has been a MUSIC LOVER since he was born. Problem is, he rarely knows or fully grasps the lyrics. Dave, on the other hand, has never heard or rarely overheard the music John chooses to play him, but tends to take lyrics literally, often to comical ends.
We did not write nor do we own the Copyright for the song used in this Educational Video. This is a real, honest reaction to a song Dave have never consciously heard before and/or listened to with intent. Any "facts" spewed by John Doh are based more on his remembrances than on any actual research. Please feel free to correct him.
Fair use principles under Section 107 of the Copyright Act allow the unlicensed use of copyrighted materials for fair use purposes, such as commentary, criticism, teaching, and news reporting.

One of the best opening tracks in prog. "School" is probably my favorite Supertramp song. I will say one more thing: I find it almost sacrilegious to play only "School" without the following song, "Bloody Well Right." Okay, okay, okay...the parent album, 'Crime of the Century' needs a full and complete listen!! Peace! ✌🎼

Doh, here... Bloody Well Right is on the short list of Supertramp reactions for Dave. Sit tight.

Yes indeed! We always played those two together back in the day because on the LP they ran together without the usual dead time, and now it sounds weird for School to just fade out without the abrupt start of BWR mid-fade. This channel is bringing back a ton of fond memories. Thanks guys!

I forgot about this song. Had Paris Live on vinyl. A floormate Freshman year borrowed it and left it on his amp. Melted it. I have a few of their albums but not this song. Forgot how much I missed it (since 1986). Thank for this and all the prog reactions. Subscribed.

Rush and Supertramp? Rush doesn't even sing in proper English. No comparing the two unless I never got high on the right dope.

The man who wrote the Hardy Boy books used to live across the street from us. He was Brian McFarlane's (HNIC analyst for many years) father Les McFarlane but he used a ghost name on the books. My mother used to take him grocery shopping once in a while. I was only about 3 or 4 years old so I don't really have any recollection of him. BTW Supertramp is my all time favorite band. Enjoyed the reaction!

Doh, here... another fine bouquet of flowers for Dave and I. Thanks so much. We won't always do thinking-man songs... Like when we hit Kiss and Ted Nugent... but I do like me some prog.

This is still my favorite Supertramp song. I love the harmonica intro (reminds me of Charles Bronson in Once Upon a Time in the West) and the piano break is one is outstanding.

Triumph is another great band. The only Christian Rock band I could ever stand. Not at all preachy, and yet wholesome, and they still rock.
@LiteralistReactions
@LiteralistReactions 2 жыл бұрын
Doh, here... I could google this, but while I knew they had positive lyrics and some Biblical themes, were they considered a Christian Rock band? I'm pretty certain they were not embraced by the Christian Radio community. The Christian themes in Kansas songs were ignored by the same community and it wasn't until Kerry Livgren publicly announced he was leaving secular music to focus on Christian themes that he was paid attention to.

Just recently, video of old concerts are now available on line. Not just Paris ‘79, but older concerts. Apparently the rued between Davies and Hodgson has been resolved enough to finally permit those of us who are diehard! fans to relive some of their great shows. This band spent more money than most on their sound system. I have rarely heard better sound at any other concert (perhaps Pink Floyd…)
