So, d&d, when you asked the question my mind went to a Shoosuva. It's a huge wolf/hyena like creature that is not only the ultimate mount for the gnoll men (hyena people) but also their highest in command. Blessed by their gods and gifted to their leaders this monster bares wolf like fangs, poisonous breath and a long scorpion tail. Truly a monster for the books.

In the first 2 series there are 7 tribes, the MudWings, the SandWings, the SkyWings, the SeaWings, the RainWings, the IceWings and the NightWings. Each of the tribes look completely different and has different abilities! You should definitely read it and try to cross-breed some of them! Sunny x Starflight could yield some interesting dragonets..

wings of fire has like , i like to view them as "elemental" tribes ! they are kind of sub species' of dragons that separate into tribes . there are sandwings, nightwings, seawings, mudwings, rainwings, skywings, and more ! their names are taken very literally, but there are tribe hybrids so it wouldnt be that far off from the series if we bred them ! also, i still like the idea of a pheonix/fire griffin and a hellhound !

By the way, the types of dragons in Wings or Fire are Sandwings (Pale/Yellow), Icewings (Colored like ice, light blueish), Skywings (Orange/Red), Seawings (Dark blue/Dark green), Nightwings (Dark like the night), and Rainwings (can change colors). There are more, but they only show up in the later books (like 11 and 12). Hope that helps :]

In Finnish mythology, there are people who live in lakes called water folk and with them, they have water cattle. These cows are said to be completely black in color and they have a large fin at the underside of their bellies. They live mostly in freshwater lakes but may come above water at night to graze. Their milk is rich and is sometimes even said to have healing properties. I imagine that the cows are dark in color as camouflage since most Finnish lakes are murky and they would be impossible to see from above. Although I do wonder how such a creature would be able to survive the long winter when the thick ice cover would make it impossible for them to leave the lake. Perhaps they hibernate or the water folk store food for them?

The dingo is considered a feral dog because it's a descendant of domesticated dogs that went wild. A genetic study from 2011 found a lot of similarities between dingos and New Guinea singing dogs, so humans may very well have brought them over to Australia thousands of years ago. Kind of like the wild horses in the US are mostly descendants of Spanish colonial horses

i think the most obscure mythical creature i know about is a type of drake 'dragon' called a Tarasque . this drake is wingless, it has a turtle/tortoise like shell, idk if it can hid in it though, it has a long, whip-like tail that is poisonous, and it breaths fire, like most drakes and dragons do, but i think it's fire is also toxic like it's tail and it is very, very large and is heavily armored more so than it's shell. :3 i learned about it when researching obscure mythical creatures for one of my fanfics i was writing at one point. :D

Ooo you should try using thylacine genes (if you haven’t already)! Thylacines (aka Tasmanian tigers) are an extinct species of marsupial that went extinct in 1936. Even though canines and thylacines are in such different evolutionary lines, convergent evolution has caused them to look so similar that biology students often mix up which skull is which. Honestly I’d love to see thylacines bred with any animal.

I usually don’t watch these types of videos, but I will mention some facts this time The canid hybrids Seri talked about in the start of the video, are all from the genus Canis. This genus includes the domestic dogs, dingos, grey wolves, red wolves, coyotes, African golden wolves, golden jackals and Ethiopian wolves. Aside from possibly Ethiopian wolves, all of these species are capable of producing fertile offsprings with one another. These hybrids are extremely important in the evolutionary history of the genus, with DNA from different species being found in others due to ancient interbreeding. For example, ancestral grey wolves interbred with ancestral golden jackals, and now all extant grey wolves have jackal DNA, even those in North America! Now, with foxes and dingoes… they are indeed unable to breed with one another, but they certainly interact. Foxes are invasive in Australia, and they are common and widespread there. This makes them meet the naturalized dingoes. What happens then? Larger canids usually kill smaller ones to reduce competition, and that case is no exception… This is very important in Australia, due to the invasive foxes damaging the ecosystem, making any local animal that reduces their population vital for the health of the local small marsupials and rodents.
