A little account of being back in Hospital during Covid times and feeling alone!

this video is about me going back into hospital this week during covid times. In the UK during Covid you are not allowed to be accompied or have visitors. So in this video I explain how that made me feel.

Yes, it's difficult being alone in there, I never saw anyone I know for 9 days, can soon lose track of time. Glad you are ok now.

Hi Andrew. Yes I have lost track of time many times in hospital. However I learnt to stop looking at clocks in hospital as I used to find myself constantly looking at the time, and time goes very slowly in hospital. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

Same. I was in hospital in the UK with cancer of the bowel/rectum September 21. My wife was in Thailand and wasn't able to come unless she went into a UK quarantine hotel. But the nurses were great and I was able to chat to other patients. I have also been in hospital in Thailand three times before for hernia operations. Your relatives are expected to sleep on the floor on mats next to your bed, bring you food, feed you and look after and clean you. The nurses are only there to administer drugs. We are so spoilt in the UK. God bless NHS!

Keep strong Sydney you can handle it, that, s something you learn with crohn, s dicease. Keep fighting. 😳How tough life can be. For a crohn patient. In 2019i didn't eat for 8months 6months 2drains and 115days in the hospital. And now i finally feel a little bit better after loosing 7,5stones.and i gain 6stones again😏 im glad i used to play rugby for 18years front row, that's the reason im still alive

Yeah we do learn to keep fighting and pushing on. We can't let things like this best us! Always fight it. Although sometimes it is hard to do. But we must.

Yep it's tough. I'm A confirmed bachelor. And went to mexico for my colostomy surgery. Most of them spoke no english.

@@sydneystoma385 Yep, got it in one guess. I got off the rat race when I got cancer. The medical insurance was 500 at first then they bumped it up to 1200 a month. So I let it lapse. So I took time to find place in mexico. The price was 13,000 there.

You have helped me so much since my own ER stay in January 2021 during the height of Covid in the US. Diagnosed with cancer, after 9 days no bowel movement or food intake, I had to drive myself to hospital two days before being admitted because hospital had no beds. I stayed six days alone. Like you no family could visit. Came home, then got a blockage and returned delirious, for another six days. During this stay, my husband got an infection around his heart and ended up down the hall from me on the oncology floor. I also lost my sister to covid while I was in hospital. We are doing much better now and have been finding channel’s like yours are such a support as doctors don’t educate they only operate🙏🏻. What a year this has been. I was afraid too. Glad you’re doing better. Am better too.

Hi Judy thanks for commenting. Wow you have certainly been through it. I so pleased to hear you are getting through it. I set this channel up with the sole purpose of helping people get through the tough times of bowel disease. If there is anything I can do please ask. I am so sorry to hear you lost your sister. I never have any words for people who lose lost ones. Words just don't seem enough sometimes. Sending love to you and your husband and the rest of your family.

@@judyatpalmetto That's rough how you lost your sister but I would have preferred losing mine your way. In my case after my Dad and I giving her a free place to live (because we hated seeing her homeless) she went nuts and stole everything that wasnt nailed down while I was in Mexico for cancer treatments. It was a huge shock and a crushing avalanche of negative emotions when I got back. And within 2 days I had to abandon the house and move into a hotel. Once I got away the brutal agony in my liver started moderating. Stress and grief are bad for cancer. Lol she even stole my cancer meds. So thankfully she's off doing her homeless thing. And off the rental lease. She removed herself from a family that only wanted what's best for her. Basically she's crazy. But at least she's gone. But I certainly did lose my sister and dad lost his daughter.

A lady who had cancer was angry with her friends and relatives. They told her that it was her fault that she got cancer. Mine also blamed me for my cancer. Some say it's because she didn't eat healthily, some said that she didn't pray or worship a god or idol, some said it's because she was not always thinking in a positive way, or worrying too much or doing yoga etc. She was angry because none of those things were true. I have been a non smoking vegetarian for 40 years and I got cancer of the bowel. Even animals and trees get cancer. It's just nature, My doctor wanted to check my CEA levels. I asked him what is. CEA ? It's ( Carcinogenic Embryonic Antigens ) We all have them from birth and through life. It's just bad luck if one of those embryonic cancer cells decide to develop.

Hi Michael. That's really sad to hear people are being blamed for having an illness. That is is shocking. It's just nature as you say. Yes we can abuse our bodies with drugs or alcohol, then yes we would cause some organ failures. But Cancer is indescriminate. Thank you for watching.
