In 2020 my wife had just undergone an experimental surgery for our daughter's spinabifida in utero, this song played while the sun was coming up over the 5 between bakersfield and Los Angeles. A station I had never heard played a song I had never heard. Things were precarious, I had to pull over, and sobs over took me.

72 years young here! I had my spina bifida operation when I was three months old. I wish I had asked my mother many more questions about it but I didn’t think about them at the time. I don’t know if I’m just lucky or if I had a mild case, if there is such a thing, of spina bifida. I don’t wear leg braces and I’m not in a wheelchair so I consider myself extremely lucky. I hope your wife and daughter and you are all healthy. Music is very powerful… I suffer from anxiety and depression and music is my medicine. I only discovered this song about six months ago when I called my favorite DJ Mark, and I asked him what his favorite band was. He gave me the name of this song and the artist. It is a wonderful song. 😊❤❤❤

Good lord I can feel every word of this song. Absolutely amazing emotional performance of a song that touches the depths of something I thought was unexplainable

His keyboard wizardry forms a major part of the Dawes sound. He is as important to Dawes as Bill Payne is to Little Feat and Benmont Tench to Tom Petty.

He reminds me so much of Jackson Browne, perhaps a little more energetic, but in the same genre!

Sometimes with Dawes less is more. When he gets into gesticulating and over-emphasizing the lyrics it kind of tosses me out of the vibe of the song. It's such a great song and when he just lets it do the work for him it's pretty perfect.
