Even better than Chris, since she's not a mumbler. I like Chris's stuff, but he did mumble through most of the reviews...

Dear Rachael, you explained each of the features so very well. This was an unexpected delight to find Yachting Monthly reviewing an older and smaller design. Is there any chance that we will see a review of a Kelt 7.6 ? Remember Lyn and Larry Pardeys' words: "The smaller the boat, the greater the fun."

Rachel was the skipper on my Rubicon sailing holiday last year (60 ft Clipper class racing yacht). She is an amazing lady and was a great instructor!! She even made scones one day while we were at sea!!

As a sadler 26 owner I thought this was great review. Maybe worth adding that she has a cosy quarter berth and a spacious cockpit locker as well. Reefed down she handles heavy weather very well too.

I am lucky enough to own my own Sadler 26. I have to agree with everything Rachael said. They are really lovely boats.

I've had mine for 15 years and covered 1000s of miles in her around the Irish coast and offshore. She has never left us down. Headroom below is one of the few reasons I'd consider trading up. They are great value at their current market price, but worth looking for one with a new engine.

What a superb Sadler 26 video commentary. Having spoken in the past to the owner and taken pictures in Salcombe it was good to see one of my Fleet being put through her paces. Certainly a very good recording for our Association. As Fleet Captain I was most impressed!

very good review, Kevin we met when you were at anchor in Flushing cove Gillan a couple of years ago and I recall your enthusiasm for the Sadler 26 as i circled on my paddle board.... its at the top of my wish list and this review just confirms that view....With regards Stuart Coffin

Some lovely footage of Ella out sailing. I'm sure a video review like this is a far from trivial undertaking but I'd echo other people's comments that this was really well presented and put together ;-) Would love to see more of these. What a beautiful & purposeful Sadler 26

She is huge, so much interior volumn. There again, I sail a Contess 26 so I know about small! Great video, keep up the good work and if I see Ella overtaking me on the Solent I will give her a wave😀.

I don't sail but enjoyed your video. Increased buoyancy, reduced flexibility, looks, comfort, and handling. I listened.

Best review of a yacht I've ever watched. Used to sail a Sadler 26 in Cornwall and can attest to its amazing qualities. Well done for a straightforward, informative review, well explained and tersely presented with all the salient facts.

Thank you Rachael, a really excellent review, I think the Sadler 26 is better in almost every way than my Gibsea 242 of a similar vintage, but will stick with the Gibsea purely for the benefit of the lifting keel and rudder on the East Coast where 2' or less of water can be the depth !

Looks a great little boat. Many years ago I had a Nickolson 36 so I'm used to something a little bigger. One very surprising omission, the cooker wasn't gambled and didn hav fiddle rails so you couldn't use it while underway at sea.
@jdtv5529 Жыл бұрын
She has a gimballed origo so no gas and the fiddles are there I promise, just not shown. This was a change made by the previous owner. We’ve made lots of meals underway. Thanks for the comments.

Coming from the Aquaholic videos having thought I packed sailing in a long time ago found this really interesting and it seems costs of small yachts can be a great deal less than the gin palaces though on the south coast it's marinas and mooring that are the real costs. Would have liked a peek at the engine though a la Nick and he always shows us his socks. But this is a great yacht and a lot more room that I'd have thought. Really good informative review which goes beyond just looking at the accommodation and gives an insight into the important bit, how she sails.

She came with the original Volvo Penta 2001 but was losing compression so re-engined with a Beta 20 as it fit (just) and the new 3 cylinder powerhouse is the same weight as the Volvo. Yes realised after the day on the water that the engine didn’t get featured. It’s ver red and shiny! There are a few that refined with the Beta 20 but others have said the Beta 14/16 and yanmar single pot have been brilliant too.

How about coming back up after a knockdown? The capsize screening number is over 2..I need to buy a boat and have it shipped to SE Asia and it will fit in a extra wide container if its the bilge keel..I dont know if a 29 will fit, I would be very happy with one. I want a CN 32, or HR Monsun, but cant get either sent down..brokers are uninterested in working with me on this. If I could get a decent yacht broker I have friends in UK who I could send the money to.
