Great episode. Fyi physical silver and gold get tight when demand surges (as would be expected). The "premiums" on silver have always been higher than gold but they have been jacked on silver since covid, but not on gold. Basically milking retail because they can, as there is more demand for silver from retail masses. Gold premiums are far less.

Regarding the discussion on Nickel futures at 48:25. I find it interesting that many people want commodity producers (miners/farmers) that trade futures to be margin called like any other trader. It ignores the original objective of the futures market where a miner/farmer would (short) sell their product in advance to eliminate price volatility risks. The producer only had to deliver the relevant amount of commodities at contract expiry. ALL the volatility risk was on the long side of the trade.

Thank god someone who realizes Jesse Livermore is not someone to aspire to become. The dude killed himself bc of bad positioning, yet everyone’s favorite book is Reminiscences of a Stock Operator. How can this be?

When politicians talk markets, they more often than not show stupendous ignorance. The same is frequently true when market practitioners talk politics, especially geopolitics.
