@@geraldineconway1865 compostable materials won't break down unless they're provided with sufficient oxygen and turned regularly (as they would be in a composting facility), and the bags will get quickly buried in a landfill and thus won't be able to break down!

Oooooo that’s a great idea! I’m someone who LOVES cute, fun packaging and I reuse and repurpose it, so I would be very sad if companies stopped including that stuff, but some people are completely opposite, so a choice would be great! Then everyone could be happy and there would be less waste!! Yay!

I was just fired from my job at University for speaking out against how they are not putting students safety as a top priority, so now I’m struggling to find a job, in a college town, during a pandemic. One of the biggest things that I didn't get about sustainability for a while is it's not JUST replacing what you consume, but also consuming less! I think us 90s kids were taught that recycling was the end-all, be-all, but the less waste/recycling/compost in general, the better. Plus things take a lot of resources just to be created, manufactured, and shipped to us. I don't think a lot of sustainability talk centers around this, but it's crucial! Anyway, all this to say I'm very excited you're reducing your packaging where possible. Your orders still look special and lovely to me!

I saw your paper bags/packaging slide around in the stack and I thought using a letter/mail sorter for your paper bags while packaging might help. It probably wouldn't be a good storage solution since the bags are a bit floppy, but using it while packing orders might help keep the sizes separates and easier to grab. I always a ton of them at the thrift store.

Love your videos Cheyenne! I can’t imagine packing 100 orders at a time, yikes! Regarding the struggle about having so many orders to pack, I’m sure you’re looking at this option already(!) but it makes such a difference when you get someone in to help. I’ve done it in the past, another shop owner through my local maker community and she would come and pack stock for me occasionally for a freelance hourly rate. I haven’t done it since covid so I know that could make it difficult right now. But I definitely recommend it, it frees up so much time. Good luck with the rest, I’ll look forward to your next video!😄💕

one of my favorite prints (from Janice Sung) is on recycled cotton paper! It's pretty thick and VERY durable. So there's option if you want thicker paper :)
