Hey Cheyenne, love your videos! I'm a cake designer and if you'd like a little tip, start with thick layers of icing and dip your scraper and spatulas in really warm water to warm them first. Some people find the paper towel method to work as well. Your cake is beautiful, reminds me a little of Alice's dress. 💗

I hope this comment is helpful. If you dip your offset spatula in hot water while doing your final skim of the icing, it will smooth out a lot more and have a bit of a shine (but not super shiny) Edit: I only mentioned this because of what you said about having smooth icing. I LOVE your style of icing cakes and you are really inspiring me to get back in touch with my creative side.

I do believe my newfound love of yellows, browns and earthy tones over the past year or so are from Cheyenne and her work. So homey and cozy, whereas before I couldn't stand yellow or orange. I adore the cake. It's honestly so well made and so Cheyenne-like to add Darling on the top. I adore Soph and Cheyenne's cat mum mode haha. I love the use of no ma'am haha. I always so no lil man to my boy. Packing orders is some of my favourite KZbin content honestly. It's so relaxing and Cheyenne's art is literally my favourite ever. So beautiful.

ah cheyenne!! baking tip! my sister bakes a whole lot and what she does to make the cake look smooth is she has a bowl (about the size of the red bowl that you have) and fill it with warm water! once you're trying to smooth out the frosting you scrape whatever is on your spatula into a seperate bowl and then dip your spatula into the warm water. and then continue to smooth out the frosting! and it should work. it has something to do with the water warming the utensil and the warm utensil smooths out the frosting better? idk i've seen my sister do it a Whole Bunch and it works for her! love ya cheyenne, and happy baking!! : )

So, when I worked in a bakery as a cake decorator, we would keep a spray bottle with water in it and right after you get it somewhat smooth, spritz it with a bit of water and use your spatula to smooth (just like you do with your crumb coat!). Your cake looks beautiful and your intro about your donations made me tear up... thank you for being such a wonderful human.

i saw the cake on insta and god !! it was so pretty :.) !! i have to go back to my town for summer school next month and that sucks, you probably already heard but cases/hospitalizations here in Texas are SKYROCKETING, back in my small town in west texas, people are just acting like nothing's wrong and not wearing masks nor social distancing, my dad told me some of them- living in apartments were just sitting at each other's patio, i see on social media kids from my school just hanging out with their friends and driving around town,, it's honestly infuriating. some people have stopped wearing masks here in Austin, when they go to store. it's like everyone is starting to just not care that this virus is serious and that people are dying, they won't care until it affects them personally. but on a brighter note !! my doc marten oxfords came in the mail today !! it's my first pair of doc martens !! I'm one of the cool kids now !!
