talking of Russian people, look up Leonid, it's a Russian band done some brilliant covers of Chicago if I spelt right, with some interviews, it shows exactly what the people of Russia are like in general.

...... but the leaders are elected by the voters and surely, therefore, reflect the wishes and hopes of the people! The political leaders selflessly offer themselves to the service of the people, and the people respond with their vote.........! PS: Russia and Ukraine signed a treaty in 1997 promising never to invade each other. Russia broke that treaty in 2014 by invading Crimea. What more is there to say?

@@TheVlogCoupleUK NATO did not expand into Ukraine so that isn't a valid excuse for Russia to break the treaty with Ukraine...... BTW, I am actually quite Libertarian and definitely no woke liberal. For that reason I see country borders and national identity as quite important.

​@@food4thort No they didn't expand 'into' Ukraine, deary me. If Russia wanted to annihilate Ukraine we both know full well they could. The fact remains that the west are not innocent in all of this and if they (not we as I don't want anything to do with it) keep poking the bear then expect the bear to bite back. Ask yourself why peace talks were scuppered by Boris (maybe encouraged by the US). I just feel there is far more to this than Nato and 'broken treaties' but hey, you carry on fella. I agree with you on borders though and you also know I was taking the p*ss with the leftie comment, or I hope you knew.

@@TheVlogCoupleUK Putin has made no secret of yearning for the USSR territorial jurisdiction of old, so he broke the 1997 Treaty and invaded Ukraine - first the Crimea (2014) and then the rest of the country (February 2022). However the resistance was greater than expected so Russia has settled, for the time being, on the Donbas and Crimea which it still (mostly) occupies. I agree that Russia could employ blitzkrieg tactics and annihilate Ukraine, however Putin doesn't want a complete wasteland to add to his empire. He can't back down though unless he gets something to justify his considerable pile of cannon fodder soldiers. Whatever, on a different subject, you Brits need a new voting system that would give Reform (and others) the proportionality of seats that reflect the number of votes. Start up a petition! Wave the flag for Britain (or at least England). Its a pity to see the 'old country' seemingly going down the gurgler under successive Labour and Tory incompetence. 😂😀
