We have a family of 8 and way back when the kids were very little we downsized their wardrobes so that they really only had a week’s worth of clothes. That let me be able to do laundry on one day a week for the kids’ clothes. We have generally kept that routine going for well over a decade. Now we still have a few other days that my husband and my laundry gets done or towels get thrown in, but laundry never really piles up because the clothes run out! It works great!

Absolutely. Family of 5. At least one lead of clothes a day. Plus a load of towels or bedding. With a 3 and 5yo, close to growing out of kids plates, they're very low on dishes. Sometimes I run the dish washer 3 times a day. No regrets. Because this is "our season of life". I've recently become a single mum. I'm so so glad I found you and Cass and Dana a couple of years ago. I've got so much more control over my life now. Things are peaceful.

Ironically, laundry is a chore I enjoy doing. Through the years, I have developed a good system. Unfortunately, my laundry closet is off of our center room. We have a hanging dryer rack that folds up and out of the way when not in use. I only wash, dry, fold, and hang what I'm willing to do COMPLETELY. Some days, it's only 1 load, and other days, it's 5 loads. 😊

We just recently purchased a new washer and dryer. It had Bluetooth and an app and I thought I would never use it, but it has been very convenient! My kids don’t like it because I can text them to let them know when to put the clothes in the washer or fold. Even if I am not at home. Love it! It also helps my ADD brain to remember that I have a load going. A load a day has changed my laundry drastically ❤!

We do laundry two times a week. Each time is about 2-3 loads. 1 load the clothes and one load the towels. I pick any other day if the week for sheets. It’s about 1-2 weeks for sheets and blankets. But I do those with a mess or just feels dirty. I don’t have to do laundry every day! This is because I have minimized our wardrobes! They are growing. But when you can start over, it’s two weeks worth of laundry. And wear the pants more than once and the sweaters more than once.

Family of 4 at home (6 altogether - 2 have grown and flown). I do at least a load a day. They aren’t always huge but my washer adjusts the water to the weight of the load and if it’s a smaller load it doesn’t take nearly as long to dry. I do separate things out a bit though. I never wash jeans or heavy fabrics with regular/lighter fabrics - too much wear and tear so I normally only do 1 or 2 heavy fabric loads a week. Same goes for towels and sheets. I wash those in their own loads. Sheets are generally 1x a week and I do 2 towel loads a week as my towels are pretty big and 4-5 fill up my washer once you add in hand towels etc. altogether it adds up to about 8 very manageable loads a week.

Right Dawn. A load a day even for a 3 member family. I thought it is wasteful of the water and electricity, buy it actually removes all problem of waiting till the load is full and then maybe if I forget to do it that day I'm out of kids socks or innerwears and it's hard to keep stock of individual items like that. Load a day it is. Earlier we used to buy more clothes to avoid this problem but that causes clutter in wardrobe.

Doing a load a day …. Do you wash everything together ? Colors and darks? Even with 4 of us I don’t have enough of one thing to do a load a day.
@a.b.657311 ай бұрын
I just throw all clothes in together (I still do separate loads for towels and bedding). If there is a saturated color new piece of clothing (like new red p.j.s or dark wash jeans) I'll wash it on cold with some color catchers (those sheets that catch dye in the wash). Then once no more dye is getting caught will wash those loads with warmer water and the color catchers. Otherwise everything usually gets washed in warm water together. Hope this helps!
@sunshine391411 ай бұрын
She’s said so, a couple of times this year, & said “nothing bad happened”. I can confirm, after 45 years of separating colors, I was only able to do one giant load after a hurricane… & it all came out just fine. Set yourself free.
