amazing to see how things have changed - not a wheelie bin in sight. I remember going to the rubbish tip as a kid with my dad and it was literally a tip, you just drove up and threw everything over the edge and it was all bulldozed straight into the ground. Now everything gets sorted into separate skips.

Im here for the sounds! The sound technician must have had a ball putting this video together! On another note, im suprised this video has so few a views. I think they should show this in primary schools.

Recall those old binwagons like the Glover Musketeers and Norbas well. Those auger based trucks would seemingly eat anything.

modern auger wagons crush stuff so hard the contents basically become a solid mass

interesting how they talk about landfills as if they were ever a good idea and then at the end mention protecting the land, which is the exact opposite. Obviously this was a while ago, but in Scandinavia and Germany we already had the first forms of recycling in the 70s and landfills were on the way out, because they only serve to let massive amounts of resources go to waste and are terrible for the environment. This film don't really touch on recycling at all, which is a bit sad. No forward looking perspective at all
