That sucks!!! I love the weapon, and I'm sure you have an excellent firearm, but I'd be furious. I missed in the video if you said the price, but I saw someone else comment mention $1500. I get that because you didn't want new you couldn't take a sub $600 price, but OUCH! Not $1500 for a firearm that's been abuse (failure to clean is abuse in my book) that much. Keep in mind, I served in an infantry regiment, our M9s were 15+ years old and none were that dirty and few had that much wear on the hammer. I want the .41 AE and .40 S&W components for the 941F (as well as the original cleaning kit) just to have a complete set. I've even considered paying for an R model. My problem is because I don't intend to use them (except maybe the R slide for safer decocking on range), I really don't want to invest much in the extra parts. I would however pay extra for grips with the IDF logo, I don't like the IWI logo, and while I liked the Magnum Research logo back when I had the "Baby Desert Eagle" since Khar took over and ruined things I've been boycotting them. M.R./Khar is also why I won't buy any D.E. or the D.E.1911G. Now that you've had your firearm for a couple years are you satisfied with how it performs on the range? Which ammunition do you prefer to use? Have you added any 'optics' or other accessories? Do you wish you had the Picatinny rail?
@tanner_miller4 жыл бұрын
@@neocommodore It's a nice shooter and has treated me well. Heavy boi for sure, but that isn't a problem - I like full steel handguns. It's a great gun to hand to a new shooter since the weight makes it a lot less snappy. I actually haven't even shot any of the .41 AE and haven't added anything to it, nor do I plan to. It is a smooth shooting gun with a nice profile that I don't think needs tampered with. Might get some different grips at some point though - the OEM ones are pretty chintzy.

I'm no gunsmith, but I've worked with the Jericho quite a bit, both in and out of the military. The seller might have only shot it once, but this pistol has seen hundreds of rounds at least, maybe even 1,000+. The Jericho resists wear pretty well. All in all, still an amazing and extremely reliable pistol. This particular version of it, with the old school slide release and decocker is probably my all time favorite. Still a great purchase!

I picked up a 941 for the same reason. I found a company on gunbroker that was selling factory refurbished show models for $500. It came with the original box, cleaning kit, one mag 9mm, and one 9mm barrel. It was covered in cosmoline, and took some effort to clean, but it's been great ever since. For $1500..... well you did get a lot of cool extras. I'd hold onto the 41 ammo and barrels just for collector value.

Hey I know this is a few years old, but that gun is "excellent condition" any day of the week. I think you were maybe expecting something closer to "like new", but the exterior (let's face it, the most important finish) is beautiful. A little wear on the usual interior wear points - but this just means you can shoot it guilt free. You wouldn't (or might, if you're so inclined) be able to do that with an actual NIB pistol. Nice vid & extras with the gun - hope you got past the disappointment & moved to enjoyment.

I bought one for close to $300 back 4 years ago, refinished it and put nite sites on it...super sweet. I know you can have a new one for under $600 but I wanted the old model with no pic rail. Since, then I have bought a new one and gave it as a gift to my girlfriend. In fact every girl I've dated have loved Jericho's and I have quite a few pistols and they are always a favorite among the ladies. I see a few more Jericho's coming my way as they are just really awesome pistols. The DA/SA on my pistol is super great, so smooth, easily best handling trigger on any of my pistols.

I got mine for a grand on gun broker with everything about a year ago. It had about 50 rounds through it and was never cleaned, that was it. O and the carboard box had water damage. Totally justified in being disappointed with the condition received versus the condition represented. For some people, $1500 isn't a big deal to spend on a firearm, but if it's something you are specifically looking for and end up paying more for it because it's exactly what you wanted only to have it misrepresented, I'd be sour too.

Very nice. Do you plan on changing the stock recoil spring and guide rod to the heavier chrome plated one like Spike has on his? The odd patina/bleed-though on controls is near universal based upon mine and every other example I've ever seen. It's often visible in areas that are well away from normal wear points. That part of the condition is likely the factory original finish. Now that someone wouldn't bother to take 20 min to properly clean a $1,200+ gun set being sold as "fired once" does raise questions.

My barrel is mirror polished, much nicer machining, and the feed ramp is slick as glass. It joins my 3 other Israeli Tanfoglio guns as the favorites in my collection. I've apparently been very lucky, as all the guns I've bought on Gunbroker have at least been as good as described, most were better, and a couple of them just needed a cleaning to be virtually in new condition. My Jericho had a low "Buy it now" price, and I jumped on it. Previously I had bid on several well used surplus guns and was outbid on all of them. I ended up with a much nicer gun. You did everything right, you just were a little bit unlucky.

Now you've got me thinking about another 92FS. My last one was a steal and I made almost $200 when I sold it. It was a police trade in, and was barely shot even though it was 10 years old. It had one tiny scratch on the bottom of the trigger guard. All I did to it was replace the recoil spring, and clean it up. The gun I really want bad is a Sig Stainless Elite, 226 or 229 9mm. The case weighs over 30 pounds empty from the side window being tempered glass. If I get the check I hope to get in January, I will be buying the Sig for sure. Sig isn't making stainless frame guns anymore, and I want one. I love all steel guns. I didn't buy one of the decent looking 92S's I've seen because of the mag release. I have a ton of Beretta 92 mags as my Kel-Tec SUB2000 takes them and I got a bunch of mags with my 92FS as part of the deal. Most of the extras are junk, but the SUB doesn't seem to have a problem with them, and after a little playing with them, they worked fine in the 92FS also. I need to just go shoot more. I used to be pretty decent, but aging eyes and not shooting much has me shooting, well, OK, I don't have problems hitting stuff, but groups are not good, and last time I went, my messed up back sure didn't help out. My back is majorly screwed up. Runs in the family. My great great great grandmother had a lot of kids and every single one had the back and neck issues and passed it on. Beautiful gun. Not cheap what you paid for it but I have never seen one in that good of shape and with the extra barrels. The barrel was dirty. But inside the slide isn't too bad. The patina of the hammer and slide release is somewhat of a normal thing for those guns. Mostly the patina is from the oils of the hands. I think it looks good. Some people don't. If my memory is correct the slide and frame are coated at different facilities so one will wear a little faster than the other because of difference in tolerances. Judging by the little bit of wear and the carbon built up on the barrel ramp I'm guessing that it probably was shot and just coated in a thin oil. Nice gun and great score on the extra barrel. Those often go for a 1k depending on who, when and where. I forgot if it's cool hand grips or Lok grips but one of them makes the cowboy Bebop grips. If you are into mods they are certain CZ and EA witnesses spring kits available. Depending on if it's for collecting or shooting. But yeah the discrimination should have listed this as I dunno. 90%-95% condition. . At least he didn't say like new

Depends which 941 you are getting. They are still in production and sell for about what you are paying. The older ones have the slide mounted safety and decocker instead of frame mounted like the current production models. You keep talking about the "quality" of the gun. You should be talking about the "condition" of the gun. These guns are of unrivaled quality in my opinion. Very under rated. The problem you are having is condition. I understand that. Inexperienced people may think that the gun itself is not of quality. I have had more than one and they are as good as any 1911 I have and better than than some others. And anyway just enjoy it
@tanner_miller6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I guess you're right from a semantic perspective; especially if I were talking to a layman. Of course, eventually issues with condition result in issues with quality. I should've probably worded things better, but I can't imagine a lot of people interested in watching a video about this gun would misinterpret what I was saying.

If I may give my 2 cents I think the slide release is from a different model than the one you bought, or it was replaced during the gun's lifetime I have the same gun you have, kbi imported, h3 marked, imi jericho 941, yet my slide release has a different shape to it, more polygonal. I am not really certain just wanted to let you know since they seem pretty much the same gun, I think mine is a bit older as far as serial but we are within a couple thousand numbers so, I don't think there should be differences in parts.
@tanner_miller5 жыл бұрын
I think it is original. There isn't much information on the differences, but you can find GOBS of pictures of the 941 R with the same smooth slide release as mine. I feel like I generally see more of the railed, Baby Eagle, and frame-mounted safety versions with the more angular slide release, but I have also seen some of the Jericho branded, slide-mounted safety ones with it as well. Would be nice if we had some sort of database on the different models over the years and their minute differences.
@italiatrash49405 жыл бұрын
Yeah looking at it I can see it is an original part, thinking about it it is probably a variation that occurred very early during production since the more streamlined slide release that you have seems a lot more efficient to machine in large volumes than the more angular one which also looks a little longer. What leads me to believe that your gun did not have that in the beginning is that your slide release and your decocker have different finishes on them which I never saw, I usually see both of them having an entire different finish than the rest of the gun but not between each other. That said I could be 100% wrong of course, there are so many variations O.O

Unless she bought it new a couple decades ago, she probably bought the newer version of the Jericho which was after IMI became IWI. ~$500 USD is the going rate for the new ones and 41AE is no longer an option since the round isn't manufactured any more.
@jasoncrowder29695 жыл бұрын
By the way you can buy a NEW full sized polymer frame for around 500.... And around 600-650 for steel frame full sized.... Why? How? When? Would you pay that much for a previously owned firearm? I always buy things new (unless a vehicle) to essentially guarantee the well being of the item. I am sorry you went through issues or aren't satisfied because it is a great weapon
@tanner_miller5 жыл бұрын
I could have easily bought a new one if it was only that platform I was interested in and not the legacy. Just have to think about it in terms of a collector's item: you can buy a new revolver for a couple hundred bucks or you can buy a curio Colt single action Army for thousands.

Your not being petty, it's spineless people doing horseshit or neglect to inform. Walked away from several purchases because of that. For some strange reason when you negotiate the price sellers get mad despite misleading descriptions/pics. Overall you got a great package deal with everything and unless the seller never field stripped it was definitely leading you on. Numrich gun parts has stuff listed under Kassnar, stock up on a few small parts and should last a lifetime.

Wow..l bought my Jericho full-size polymer w/ frame safety (no decocker) for around $675 w 2 mags..brand new. The first time l was made aware of Jericho at a range here in Miami, they had both steel frame and polymer..both rode hard and very used. The polymer w fingergrooves fit my hand like a glove..much better than the steel frame non-grooved grip for ME. Everyone's hands are different..the slide action on the steel felt a bit tighter and a lil bit smoother than the poly.. l figured the steel frame would have a smoother more crisp trigger than the poly but nothing could be further from the truth, the poly trigger was lighter, smoother and noticeably more crisp the the steel frame.. both being broken in l think it is simply that way for what ever reason with the Jericho.. l was not a fan of the extra weight of the steel frame so the poly was the logical choice for me. I own many pistols..most being CZs, Walthers and this IWI.. no Sig's and no Glocks by choice. My wife is GAGA over the Jericho..by FAR her favorite to shoot..she notices the lighter recoil and thinks it's the sexiest pistol on the planet.. l like it a lot..trust it like l trust my hammer...IT WORKS! a VERY well made, thought-out and finished weapon..too big to easily conceal, however should riots show up at my door it would certainly without thought be my "GO-TO" pistol of choice...the .41 express would be awesome but l have a PPQ.45 for the bigger caliber itch... Much easier finding .45acp than .41AE all day. No, l don't like forfeiting capacity either which is a give in .41....I highly recommend this pistol..l do..but a $$$$grand? Or more??? NO WAY... It is worth no more than $800 TOPS to me..it's the AK of pistols as far as reliability.. but while you can get a PPQ9mm for under a grand l just can't see the extra money being spent when it's not necessarily a better pistol...better looking sure to me.. the PPQ is a mutt, almost HighPoint looking but it's NO Highpoint! It's really a great pistol.. just my .....50¢ worth...sorry for your loss but still an informative video! I thank you Sir!

Once you use one. It's a wrap lol. I find them near me in Zephyrhills for like 4-6 all day long. I don't know why these people out here paying thousands.

Everything is nuts high right now..Jericho does not get any attention in America.. it's not known by many..it's worth twice what l paid.. let's a full size and their Compact ain't so compact it's a big boy too..but what a great pistol..

Once doesn't mean one shot, fired once means fired once - maybe fired 500 rounds at one time. i don't know what you paid for it, but its a great gun. just clean it up and you will be surprised.
@tinusvanderwesthuizen2955 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I got one that I have shot thousands of rounds through, I can take some pictures for you on wear. It does polish some areas on the barrel for instance. Is there a huge market for these or are you the only need? Lol.
@tanner_miller5 жыл бұрын
Niche market I would say, not huge. But that does drive up the price. Unshot, full kits (ammo, case, barrels, etc.) go for $2,500 or so. The full kit in decent shape w/o ammo will still fetch you $1,000+ probably.

I left a Google review fully explaining my experience a year ago or so. Is a shame we have to deal with shady people like that in the community - legal owners have enough opposition without having to worry about being shafted by people "on our side."

I know this is a bit late, but you're a little unfair on the gun, likely because of inexperience. 1. That is most certainly excellent condition. 2. That purple coloration is not patina, it's how steel with a bit more nickle in it blues. You see it in a lot of eastern european guns on small parts. 3. Never EVER trust sellers round counts, but once fired typically means one range session to people who have actually shot guns. You don't shoot one round and put it away. Regardless, its fine. The gun will last tens of thousands of rounds with good care. 4. It's a production gun, not a custom shop deal. If it functions there's no reason to make internals look pretty in regards to your barrels. Plenty of guns have machining marks where they're not polished off or in non function impeding areas.
@Pyrosis226 жыл бұрын
I would suggest selling some of your extra mags or even 41 ammo and just refinish a few of the controls. Its really not the full collector grade NIB kit but a show piece (because of that damn anime I'm always hearing about) so even cerakoting those parts would be acceptable.
@tanner_miller6 жыл бұрын
That isn't a half bad idea. I got mine with the full intention of shooting it pretty often and enjoying it, so I probably wouldn't have paid for a NIB, just because I would have felt like an ass shooting it. I haven't really looked into .41 AE ammo much, but know it is discontinued and very uncommon. What is it going for these days?
@Pyrosis226 жыл бұрын
Not too sure but a pretty penny I bet even brass is valuable and all 41AE shooters that I know reload. Before you do gunbroker or ebay I'd join the Jericho 941 owners group on FB first and sell directly then you'd have the funds to do whatever to pretty up the gun as you like.
@leocadena68444 жыл бұрын
Clearly not new, gorgeous gun nevertheless. Just got my IWI Jericho 941R version of it and even though has some extras (picatinny rail) still think yours is a better looking one. Shoot it and enjoy it man!

Just my opinion, but it seems your "deal" was "OK". I would not say you were "ripped off", but it was far from a grand slam deal. Has the value of the firearm gone up a bit?

I think quite a few people are not understanding that the money you paid was for the complete conversion kit made in 1990-91 and not "just the gun". The new ones ARE NOT the same , and certainly not worth what the older ones with the kit are. Sadly , many of those kits out on the market are trashed and in poor condition , broken case/missing pieces/ammo etc. Then assholes try and piece a kit together and lie about what is the true condition and history of the thing just to make a buck. Found mine on Gunbroker about three years ago after not much looking and it just happened to be at a local pawn shop so I could actually see it. Only thing that was not in perfect shape was the .41 AE ammo box (slight tear on the top) but I was cool with it. Paid $1300. Unfortunately , I think if you find one for that price now , it's not going to be pristine. 😉
