A look at Player owned tiles inside E2V1 - an Earth 2 Community Tribute

We are thrilled to present this video, created in response to requests from some of our community members eager to see their properties, planned megacities and tile art in Earth 2 Version 1 (E2V1). Our team has curated this showcase to highlight some of the incredible locations submitted by our dedicated Players.
All footage has been captured in real-time within our seamless 510,072,000 km² map, accurately representing a 1:1 scale version of Earth, known as E2V1. This video primarily focuses on the layouts of player-planned megacities and tile art, bought and owned by players through our website, earth2.io, but now being displayed in our flagship product, E2V1.
We also provide ground-level visuals of these planned megacities in their current pristine condition, with vegetation, flags, and properties being toggled on and off in real-time to provide different visuals.
This video is a an Earth 2 community event, offering Players a more immersive look at how their properties appear within E2V1.

I feel like bringing real money into it kind of defeats the idea. Game mechanics and gameplay would be limited by the fact it’s tied to real money and ownership, ie can’t exactly build or destroy without issue if the stuff is paid for with real money, can’t take tiles etc. The idea that someone would want to get on and spend real money to rent fake land at scale is also absurd, most of the real world is empty even. This feels more like an avenue for speculative investment than gaming. The fatal flaw is that the speculative investors will buy the tiles, but no new money will come in to rent and play on it or at least not at the scale it would take for most “investors” to see the benefit. In truth, the most successful games with microtransactions and people trading skins and stuff for money are those that build a fan base bc of the gameplay and have those transactions be not required. Even the most popular games wouldn’t be able to fill a 1 to 1 recreation of the world and have it be immersive.
