It's probably in the main unit so they make sure you replace the entire thing when the board goes bad, rather than replacing just the head... that's the first thing that came to mind

Oh dear Mark!! Mr Dyson will never forgive you for revealing his secrets. Then again, who cares! Lol!! Good interesting video. Thumbs up. Warmest regards, Wayne and Nina (Ipswich Suffolk UK)

My DC23 electric power head stop working. I do not know much about how to check if it’s the motherboard that toasts or the micro-switch not working or if it’s the actual motor that’s dead. How could I go start to start troubleshooting. Also would you know where could I get parts in Canada for it. Thanks!

Excellent observation , Mark. Thank you. Question: How to "reset" or "restart" microcontroller just in case ?

Ok, how many screws were left over at the end?

Do you have any idea what current the motor will trip at? Mine is starting to cut out intermittently and I am trying to figure out why.

Can you explain how to remove the motor wires from the board. Is there a clip inside the connection to allow the wires to be released? Thanks.

hey. Love you video! The schematic helped. also, Any chance you know what the specifications are for the fet on the board? Mine blew up, and cant read the numbers on it due to it being blown up.
@richardlouie29222 жыл бұрын
While I can't help you on the FET specs, I have found that the board itself is available for about $40 to $50 which may be an alternative to replacing the FET. BTW> I noticed from the video that there wasn't much ventilation in where the board is located. Was the area dusty where the board is?

I have an intermitant powerhead, after cleaning the unit and checking all visible connections it still cuts out. Is there anyway I just get a new head for a DC23 or at least replacement parts such as the IC board?

Can you power-up this powerhead independently? What is the voltage between power terminals on the head?

Did you ask why didn't dyson put the circuitry in the motorhead and use only two lines along the hose and wand? I believe that's because they want to make sure the motorhead can only be fully functional with the vacuum together and not working independently, and they quite accepted and justified that there's not much difference between running two lines and running three lines, in terms of cost. Just my 2 cents.

What about sensing if the head is actually present before giving it power?
@JMANCANADIAN Жыл бұрын
I would imagine they put the circuit board in the main unit for protection, plus when you replace the head its cheaper as it does not include the board.

my daughter, when trying to push the power head down to start cleaning, cracked the plastic. it no longer holds a vacuum in the unit. Does anyone know of a "glue" that will bond the brake and vacuum seal it? (I bought a "cheapo to cover my repair time, but my wife is now on me to get it done.)
@ELECTROHAXZ6 жыл бұрын
Marty Hastings Try sealing it with silicone, let that dry, then use acetone to melt the plastic back together

thanks for the good info i will try that.

I'm confused: isn't there a risk to fry a circuit board by putting it on carpet and moving it around like you do between 6:30 and 8:30 ?_?
