Laco is just underrated. In the flieger watches area they're an authority.

agreed ! Most people don't even know they make other great watches such as this. Everything about this watch looks awesome.

I love my Laco Cuxhaven. I also changed out the included strap for a shell cordovan band. The milanese bracelet looks great as well.

You rock Bruce. Another great video of another beautiful watch. Stoxa has some really nice watches in their Marine line which give you a lot options on size, movements and customization at some real great price points. Thanks Bruce and enjoy that fine timepiece.

Great review! I would have to have both the Oris and the Sinn nefore I bought that Laco. That said, I do appreciate it.

Laco are doing some great work these days at the price point I think, I have some vintage ones in my collection that I paid very little for but will definitely checking these out Bruce.

Where did you get the bracelet?

I just picked one of these up and I'm waiting for its arrival. Does this one have AR coating on the underside and topside or just on the underside of the sapphire crystal? Thanks!!

The Cuxhaven reminds me of the Stowa Partritio white dial version. Differences are the Stowa 37mm case size, large second hand and ETA 2824 movement.

One of the things I love about this watch is that it’s not a diver.

are these handwind movements more or less reliable than autowind? does one or the other tend to be more accurate than another? lastly does handwind have more or less soul than auto wind?
@BruceWilliams5 жыл бұрын
I've not found one or the other to be more or less accurate or reliable. As long as the movement has good architecture, nice components, and is adjusted for multiple positions it can be a very accurate timekeeper. It won't really matter if it wound by hand or by a rotor.

Please compare this with Stowa Marine Original!

Nothing against Laco, but I'd go Stowa. But that can be a personal decision.

Another thoughtful review! Do you have any thoughts on the Oris ProPilot Timer GMT as an entry level piece?

Whats that milan strap manufacturer from Germany ???

Oh Bruce! Another American reviewer bites the dust while trying to pronounce the name of the watch correctly, lol. KOOKS-hah-fen. It's a city on the northern coast of Germany. I like Laco watches a lot, having owned three in the past, and this Cuxhaven is a serious contender for filling the slot of a high-quality white-dial watch in my collection. Right now it's in the running along with the Damasko DA43.

I did take German in high school lol but that was a while ago. I've become a classic ignorant American

I was going to wait for this when it was quietly announced baselworld 2018, I think.. Or was it even 2017? Anyways, I was in market for a watch with small seconds, kind of vintage looking, and marine chronometer style, more or less. But, I ended up getting a Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer which I really like the design of

Nice, but a tad large for my taste. Job well done Bruce!
@BruceWilliams5 жыл бұрын
I would enjoy it a tad smaller as well I think. The movement makes it hard to size smaller though
@Jeff-mj1nl5 жыл бұрын
Nice video! You should check out Tourby watches from germany. They have a similar designend marine watch, also with a unitas, but in a 40mm case which looks insane!

Ive heard from a few friends that they really enjoy thier tourby watches

Honestly think this is the most handsome / aethestically pleasing dial I've ever seen. But at 42.5mm - that size is just nuts for this style of watch. Give me a 38-39mm version and I would buy it right now!

to wind this movement you have to do it forward/backward, if you only do it forward you will broke the movement
@edf29535 жыл бұрын
I think its a very nice looking watch with some great features, but I can’t get over the fact that for $1200 (or whatever the retail was), that the movement doesn’t allow hacking. That would be a deal breaker for me.

I’d much rather get a Tissot Petite Seconde from their heritage line. Similar dimensions and look for half the price on the grey market.
