One of the problems with modern television: Seasons getting so short that there’s no breathing room between the big stuff. Just plot plot action action rush rush, and it gets to be a lot after awhile.

@@kradeiz Even this isn't a breather episode. We learn what the Red Lotus' whole deal is in this episode and why they were trying to grab Korra.

@@kradeiz I would argue that it's more a consequence of how shows are written rather than the length of the seasons. Not that the length helps, but I'd say the writers are more to blame.

It feels like there's never time for status quos to settle and establish any more. No down time to explore the world and the actual daily lives of our colorful characters. It's a problem. Sure, not every series should be able to take its time to show issues big and small while weaving the larger tapestry, but not every series should be all gas, no brakes with every episode having major revelations and serious a plot advancement. I partly blame the success of Arcane, though the trend does predate it be a good few years. Arcane was a magnificent piece of art, but that kind of pacing is not inherently better for tv, and they didn't just trim all the fat off. Ekko is notably the biggest hit taken with meat and bone also being shaved off for his role in the story and his character arc.

Korra strikes me as more a Damien Wayne than Jason Todd.

@@mikegates8993 I get more of a Stephanie Brown vibe off her really. Snarky, goes through Hell, falls for rich kids with kind hearts, often way in over her head is is heir to one hell of a legacy. And is often treated like dirt by both fans and Executives despite being pretty awesome. The only real difference is Korra is canonically Bisexual while Steph is only ambiguously bi.

@@Winter-The-Masquerade I think she has more in common with Damian because both have a lot of natural talent, and they let that talent make them more than a little arrogant. But I will concede you're points about her and Stephanie Brown, even if I've never heard of the fans being bad to her, I thought that it was only the people who ran DC and people hated how they treat her, but I could be confusing her with Cassandra Cain.

Man. The more I watch these reviews, the more I realise, that I was right NOT to rewatch this series. Walmart sells the whole series for like 20 bucks.

Yeah, season 2 killed my desire to consider this show canon with ATLA, and season 4 killed my desire to rewatch it ever again.
