Loving the Sheridan Douglas. On the four of wands, I saw a whip and NOT a sculpting tool. I guess it is a projection of my crazy mind 😜. TY for another great video.

Hi Tom, neat video thanks. I was just this morning mentioning this Douglas deck/book with a friend, who then mentioned you just made a video for it. I have the book (picked it up YEARS ago) but NOT the deck lol. And I've always wondered what the decks colour looks like, as the book reprints each card only in b&w. So thanks for the run through, interesting for me to see. I found the book interesting, with some curious and helpful (though very limited) info on tarot history. I was a teenager when I came across it, so was just lapping up any info as a newbie. A short book, and published in 1970, it contains some factual errors around historical references, which is typically to be expected. But I also found it expounds well upon a few more philosophical perspectives on the esoteric nature of the tarot. He definitely approaches the symbolism from a GD inspired influence, when discussing the attributes of the cards/meanings. Regarding the colouring, I flicked back through the book briefly now, and noticed very little explicit reference to his reasoning of colour-theme choice in the deck (the deck seems to be 'curated' by him and created by Sheridan). However, he does elucidate upon deeper themes with each card, some of which intimate indirect connections with a particular colour. For instance, the Devil card, in heavy green... in the books' section on this card, he references a strong connection of the Devil with 'Pan', Lord Of Fertility, which intrinsically denotes a connotation with nature, fertility and Spring... and therefore I assume from the perspective of an artists' aesthetic -an association with the colour green. So I wonder that there is some aesthetic logic to some of these heavy colour choices with some of the card designs. Again, thanks for the wonderful discussion on it!

Oh this is super useful! Thanks!! I'm really curious to study the book, now. I appreciate all of this information. ❤️

I've had my eye on the Sheridan-Douglas for some time now, thanks for showing these. The only thing that slightly puts me off is that the original printing (from what I can see on line) had slightly lighter, 'warmer' colouring. Not sure it's worth holding out for one of those given the prices, though!

I know...those vintage editions are hard to find and not cheap. I'll say that, even with the shockingly white card stock and colder printing, it's such a great and unique deck that I think it's worth owning.

Careful people I have not got mine and it was 3 months ago ( Tarot of Musterberg) , meanwhile I have received all other orders from France twice, greece and Amsterdam ordered after this deck . I emailed them yesterday hopefully they respond !

Now the Tarot of Musterberg is a mist-have! The coloration on the Sheridan-Douglas reminds me of the 70's deck, Tarot of the Witches, which I love. 🖤🖤🖤

Tarot of Musterberg is so gorge! I originally ordered it and when it got list in the mail I was gutted--and so thrilled they sent me a copy. I adore it. Sheridan Douglas is SOOOO 70's, and I LIVE for it. I was born at the tail end of the 70's and there's something in me that's drawn to that discotastic look.

I've started falling in love with "The Ginger Tarot" of late. I'm really confused about its origins, however. The website makes it out to be an actual reproduction. . . but when you google Pennyland Amusement Park, it would appear to be an urban legend? I've seen other walk thru's of this deck where they read from the booklet. Hm. I love creators with vivid imagination of a world that exists around their deck . . .and I love historical repros. . .and I love it MORE when I can discern between the two. . .*sigh* Seriously -- I could watch you riffle shuffle for hours on end. You're a champ.

Ahhh! Totally! They're a comic book company. I think they're invented that story as part of their "world." But it's such a good deck that aside! And shuffling decks is a balm for me, so I'm glad you enjoy that!! 🤣

I thank you for the clarity, Sirrah! And any further riffle shuffles you care to do. . .
