A look back at Blackbeards Cave - The abandoned amusement park in Bayville NJ

Blackbeard's Cave was an amusement park/entertainment center in Bayville NJ that operated from 1995 - 2020. The place had Go Karts, Mini Golf, some flat rides and a rollercoaster. It was my childhood place to get my entertainment fix, and has been abandoned for two years. Today we see what's left and take a look back at the past.

Such a damn shame this place closed and is now rotting away. It was a perfect local alternative to having to drive to Seaside. Thanks for posting and inserting the "before pics" on the screen.

A true Central Jersey gem, forever missed. BlackBeards Cave, Wild West City, FunTime America and all the other amazing one off small amusement facilities scattered around the state. We definitely had amazing childhoods.

Darn, this hurts. Remember visiting everytime me and my family visited my aunt down there. I could still picture some of the rides as he was at certain spots. So many memories.

This is literally 2 mins from my house.. Brings back a lot of memories (aiming for the go karts from the driving range, for example... lol)!!

I had very fond memories going here in the early 2000’s. My father and I would go every other Saturday do go-carts batting cages mini golf. Heck sometimes go on the big slide they had. I believe they had some dinosaurs ride? It’s been so l could be wrong lol. None of the less very sad to see it like this 😞 I remember having a shirt from here too.

God this brings back so many memories, from having my birthday party there one year as a kid, riding the rides, mini golf, go kart racing including when they sprayed the track with water to make it extra different, and of course the restaurant with all the modle trains. The nostalgia is real and it sucks that it's completely gone and being demolished because I would of loved to experience it one more time. Great job on the video going through everything!

I used to come here with my summer camp when I was little. We used to alerts do the archery and the roller coaster. My brother just sent me this. It’s sad this is what it looks like now. And to think this is only how it looks after 2 years…

Man this is sad. I live in Bucks County PA but my aunt and (now late) uncle live in Bayville and we'd visit them at least once a month, during the summer growing up in the 90s/00s. At least once a summer we went here. I had forgotten about it until driving past while visiting my aunt last month.

The restaurant was originally called Sir Walter’s. That was before it was C.B. Huntington’s. You can see the medieval theming still on the outside facade.

shut up right now. it’s shut down forever? so many of my friends had amazing birthday parties there. it was such a fun cheap place to visit when i was little. this breaks my heart. we aren’t kids anymore :(
