Maybe the reason that the narrator gets so meta in these adaptations is because things just kind of happen for no reason in the nutcracker so he's just like and now we do this because script

I saw this live. In fact, 5 or 6 times a day. I was Mr. Narrator and it was fun to do. I sat in my little den off to the side of the stage which would rotate to reveal me for my lines then hide me away again for the scenes. I enjoyed watching the dancers in every performance from the comfort of my chair. It was a cast full of really sweet people.

I still have this thing somewhere in my garage. I adored this as a kid and it's honestly still one of my favorite renditions, to the point that I was disappointed the animated version didn't hearken back to it. It deviates a lot, but I treat it like the Spaceballs to the original's Star Wars.

Memories unlocked. I vaguely remember having this special on cassette tape recorded off of TV

That was what happened in the original ETA Hoffman story that was the basis to the ballet.

8:49 😅 You forgot to mention the fact that this scene makes the fairy queen a "Karen".

Considering how Roger was essentially considered a part of the sensational Six back then for a short while makes me consider the Roger Rabbit characters being apart and having a pretty major part in The Mickey Mouse Franchise.

So Chip and Dale are responsible for making candy in a world made of candy? It’s like Homer Simpson getting stoked for coming across a candy shop selling chocolate half off in a world made of chocolate

The "Russian Dance" may have been converted to country, but the "Chinese Dance" was essentially converted to *jazz* .

I think the Chinese dance Chip and Dale perform is a Charleston version

My favourite version of The Nutcracker is the Barbie version mostly because of Nostalgia and Tim Curry as The Mouse King

Mine is the WB version with Philys Diler, Megan Follows, and Kiefer What's-His-Name. (Sorry; forgot.)

Gosh I feel like I have to explain every joke you don't get so acme is a very common name for companies in the real world like acme soap. For example, is its own independent company from say acme electric? And the reason why Acne is such a common name for companies is because it makes them appear for the long in the phone book

I think the reason Donald isn't here is all the singing, he don't really have the voice for that does he?

My opinion of this production? It's neither high-quality nor particularly imaginative, but it's still plenty enjoyable. Come to think of it, if this production *were* state-of-the-art (and possibly high-brow), all those Disney characters would be completely out of place.
