Agreed. It's a very different from PM LKY's strong and commanding demeanor. I think it fits current day Singapore much better. In tough times we needed a strong and authoritative leader, but in my opinion PM Lawrence Wong's fair and relaxed demeanor might be great as well. LKY did what he had to for the future of Singapore, and I'm hopeful that Lawrence Wong will do what he can for the people of Singapore.

At least he had the spine for what needed doing in the circumstances despite the huge difficulties spore was facing. Arm chair critics after the fact say much when knowing little. In comparison to msia...pls, let us not embarrass ourselves with such talk about spore, a country if without the steel of LKY and carried on by subsequent PMs can be where they're today. Be fair, be real, be objective... Yes, I'm also from across the causeway... JB!

Prime Minister Wong, I wish you well and I hope you will be a blessing for Singapore and its inhabitants. I have great respect for what the East Asian leaders and their peoples have achieved. Unbelieveble! I remember a videoclip with the late Lee Kuan Yew answering a question by a student, what he feared most for Singapore. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew answered, that he feared most for the Singaporeans, when they have forgotten what poverty was. I will nevver forget his answer! This is a problem of The West ....they have forgotten what poverty was! I have never been in Singapore and my wish is, I am a Dutchman of nearly 77, to visit Singapore one day.
