OMG, the ending brings me to tears... again.. I'm a US citizen, was working & living in Singapore for few months in 2015, during that period Mr. LKY passed away. I remember as well that the day, it was raining heavily as if the Gods were crying for the great loss & the people were lining up the streets. I didn't know about the event after just arrived in Singapore the day before. So I was in the hotel, watching the farewell ceremony on TV, I cried back then & so touched by the respect & love shown by the nation. Nothing like this ever occurred in the US, UK, or EU... The following years, I read through all of his memoirs & watched his videos on YT. His wisdom cleared a lot of ways of thinking & seeing the world for me, which led my life to a better outcome as Singapore did for the past decades. Highly recommend everyone to read the books, his practical wisdom will guide you through the challenges in life to become better.

LKY seems to me as an example a great man who appeared on the scene at the right time. This man dedicated his life to his multi ethnic and probably earlier divided nation and was able to bind disparate cultures in a dangerous post colonial wolrld. Sadly for Singapore, Mr. LKY could not live a thousand year. The nation moans and miss him

He already had said back in 1965, ‘I won’t be here, but his friends around him will BE here’

Among the dozens of LKY Quotes, ❤1 stands out i.e. " i never aimed to be politically correct, i just tried to do what was correct" (not his exact words but same meaning here) *this is the thing lacking in many politicians. I prefer to use the term "Statesman" for LKY.

Seems, Singapore, for 58 years have been Chinese centric despite being 3821 Km away from China. Should be like the Jews, they went home.

Indonesia also had authoritative leader for many years, too bad he was a corrupt and only enriching his families, friends and his circle members. I don't mind authoritative leader as long as he cares for people like LKY and Xi Jin Ping
