A Look Back at WWE All Stars

This year we are going to get WWE Playgrounds. A new WWE Arcade console game for the first time since 2011. When we got the classic WWE All Stars. Fans have been asking for a arcade style WWE game for years now, and its finally happening. At the cost of WWE 2K21. Regardless I always was fascinated with WWE All Stars. It looked so fun. The vibrant colours, the larger than life characters, moves that replicated WWE Action figure moves. The roster that featured legends like Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold, The Rock, and current stars like John Cena, Triple H and more. However I never got to play it when it came out. Fast forward to 2020 and I finally got my hands on WWE All Stars. Its been 9 years since this game came out, how was it? How does it hold up? Is it a true fun arcade game? Can arcade games be fun after a few playthroughs? I got all those answers after playing this game for 2 weeks. So join me as I share my thoughts on WWE All Stars

The hardest thing in this game is FINISHER. Like every time you try finisher, they first make pose which gives opponent time to get away and completely ruin your life.

Thats why i used to trigger the finisher when the opponent was down, that way by the time he gets up the pose animation is already done

I always found it was cool that you could use your finisher as a reversal for top rope moves. If someone jumps off the top rope, and you're Chris Jericho, you can get up, jump, catch them in mid-air and hit them with a code breaker. It was sick.

Damn man, it’s unfortunate you didn’t get this back in 2011, glad you enjoy it still now. But the funnest mode on all stars was online. Hitting catching finishers on your friends or online opponents was so satisfying

The colorful and over-the-top art style belies the immense depth that this game has. This was one of the few 7th generation games that I had a hard time putting down once the online server died. I actually bought the game guide so I could learn the combos. In the right hands, even the CAW system had a ton of depth.

the main reason why I love this game is how the exagerated and extra the special moves are, along with the cartoony graphics. It kinda reminds me of Def Jam and Backyard Wrestling games. A shame we didn't get to see the females though, I'd love to see Sable, Torrie Wilson, Chyna and Luna Vachon

I remember when me and my brother were playing this years back. We were doing a steel cage match and of course you know the rules touch the ground you win. But, we found a glitch where if you use a giant and use the stomp the ground move repeatedly you get sent flying outside the ring and the match doesnt even end. So you can literally get out of a steel cage and fight on the outside. If you were a high flyer, with the height you get jumping from the top rope you can have both superstars on the outside.

Man this is one of my favorite games EVER. it came out 2 days after my 11th birthday and I begged my parents for it on Wii (I wasn’t spoiled as a kid either.
